Night

I use this eye care product under the direction of my ophthalmologist for my dry eye problem allegedly complicated if not caused by air escaping from my CPAP machine and directed towards my mostly left eye while I sleep. Hycosan works very well and provides some nutrients to my stippled/dry/dying cornea in the process. [I have since also acquired a different nasal cushion which has small nostril pillows which minimizes errant air currents.]This product is now (24.0225) hard if not impossible to find for sale in these barely United States and my contact with the manufacturer/distributor advised me that Hycosan is now marketed here as Optase and which appears to have the same formula with the Vitamin A (and which Refresh PM does not have). All these ointments are way too expensive… but we do what we must.

I have dry eyes, which sometimes causes my eyelids to stick together overnight, so I've been putting ointment in my eyes before bedtime for decades. On a recent trip to the UK, I ran out and had to buy this "made in the UK" eye ointment. It is wonderful!!(1) It seems better than the US products I had been using - less blurring in the morning.(2) You get more product for less money.(3) The tube has a larger capacity so it lasts longer.(4) The applicator is much easier to use - the US products switched from a metal applicator to plastic and it became difficult to accurately apply - the Hycosan applicator is plastic - but much better designed.Seems like a much superior product.

I don’t like the flimsy manufacturers seal on the box, it should be placed around the opening of the tube. However, I went against my better judgment and tried it, and boy I’m glad I did. It made my eyes feel smooth and hydrated and completely resolve the itchy, burning sensation I was experiencing prior. I’m actually glad I found this product and hopefully they’ll change the packaging.

I have extreme dry eyes with Eczema on the skin around them. I have cracking that is really painful as well. I received this product yesterday and used it last night. Wow, I noticed such a difference this morning. My eyes were not sealed shut and I didn't have to use steroid ointment to see results. I've tried over the counter ointments from the US as well and they just don't work for me. This comes from the UK and the tube is larger and the price is right. I highly recommend and I will continue to use! Finally relief!

I have severe dry eye from getting shingles in it a year ago. This is mainly a nighttime ointment but a month ago, my cornea specialist put me on these eye drops four times a day. Finally something that actually works for me. He instructed me to only order it from Amazon or Walmart to be assured of getting the real thing. It's not found in stores. It does make my vision blurry for about a half hour but it's worth it because now my eye doesn't have the burning feeling very often.

I have severe dry eye to the point where I usually wake up twice a night to moisten my eyes. This product didn’t help to keep my eyes moisturized over night. It compares to other gel lubricates. I gave 3 stars because it may great for a person with minimal dry eyes

I have been using eye lubricant for my eye for more than 50 years, this is far better than any eye ointment I have used. It last longer than the others and by that I mean it keeps my eye moistened the longest.

I have pretty severe dry eye when I sleep. my lids dont close all the way so they dry out and if I blink or open my eyes at night I scratch my cornea. Super painful. This stuff has no preservatives and keeps them lubricated all night. It does have some residual the next day that is a bit hard to get all out but does not blur my vision like other do the next day. I do need to wash and wipe my eyelids in the morning to get out the extra, but that is way better than having a scratched cornea.
