SUCH AMAZING SUMAC!
My husband and I love this Sumac so much!We find ourselves putting it on so many things! It's the seasoning you never knew you had to have!!!Love it on soups, in our 'dipping olive oil' for bread, on our savory meals as if we were adding salt or pepper! It just goes on sooooo many things!I have a bottle of Sumac I had bought previously, and it just doesn't hold a candlestick to this one! I had just thought Sumac was so-so with that older bottle, until I had someone recommend this one, and wow! Has a beautiful lemony taste to it, and it is not all dried out like the other bottle we had previously.I'm so glad we tried it! We love it on everything. I have this on constant re-order, sometimes 2 a month for only two people! It's truly that amazing.

Update...Not Ground Well
Ok. So I ended up buying Penzeys and that was not bad, but I used it all up to make my zaatar mix. Then I wanted to make imsakhan, only to remember that I had no sumac, or so I thought. I had never opened the ZZ sumac because I felt bad using it (as I had gotten a refund) and had the intention to find out their mailing address and mail them the product as I was not happy with it and did not want to toss it. Anyways, I figured I would open it and taste it. Ok, it is definitely not ground finely. Looks like it has a bunch of berry casings. I always thought these were rock hard, but they were not. Despite expecting a finer ground it is excellent tasting sumac, better than Penzeys in regard to the flavor. Better than anything I have bought in the US. Just as good as Palestine actually...taste wise, but I wish it was ground finer.Sorry,I was very disappointed. I have NOT opened my jar yet, but it is obvious this is a coarse (not ground fully) blend. Maybe I got the bottom of the bag with heavier unground bits. Not only is this inconvenient to have to blend it in a coffee grinder (for the price it should be professionally ground), but is is dangerous to have hard bits that are unground. Someone who does not know sumac might sprinkle this on whatever or use it for imsakhan (lets say they never made imsakhan but had it at a friend's house and asked for the recipe) only to bite into the hard bits and break/chip a tooth. I hate to leave a bad review, but at least it does not seem to be mixed with salt (that is a plus) and the color looks correct, so it might be decent tasting. My mom said to clean out the hard unground bits with a sieve. I plan on trying Penzeys next.

Amazing Flavor - A Sweet addition that reminds me of a light cranberry taste.
I was taught to cook by two amazing cooks, both locally famous and one who even wrote a cooking column in a local Newspaper.I cook and create my own recipes and self taught additional culinary skills. My wife bought this spice for me to experiment with. My first attempt was my already famous cabbage soup and the Sumac took it to a higher level, per my testers. They too agreed it added a hint of sweetness to the recipe.I would recommend anyone who enjoys cooking to add this to their spice collection...I know I did.

Top Class Sumac. Nothing more to say. Less reading this review, more eating this sumac over Labneh, Hummus, you name it.
