PACKED WITH GREAT INFORMATION & JUST WHAT I NEEDED
I am just now learning of histamine intolerance from which I have probably suffered with for 35 years but this year has been excruciating! I was experiencing what I thought was unrelenting sinus allergies, migraines, gut pain, hair loss, exhaustion, eye pain, irritability and more! My family doctor referred me to an Ear Nose & Throat specialist who requested I be tested for 39 allergens. After my skin prick test showed NO reaction to anything, even very little to the injected histamine I went online to find answers. Of course; my search showed that I have a histamine overload. I had never heard of this. Even my ENT doctor has little understanding of it and now wants to do a CT scan of my sinuses!Once again I thought I would have to "manage" my own symptoms. While I found much useful information online, this book has put it altogether in an easy to grab format. This book let me know that my gut pain is tied to histamine also. No GI doctor has given me relief or told me that! I had no idea why meat was also a problem for me but she explained it. She even mentioned a tie to melanoma which I have had! She tells of the diseases which are linked to high histamine levels. Each time I read this book I find another detail which helps me on my wellness journey. Knowledge is power!!Long story short....I have started on the 6 week diet which will most likely be my diet for life! I noticed an improvement the FIRST day on the diet!! I have ordered suggested supplements that I believe will help me also. I liked this book so well that I also had one sent to my aunts friend who has similar issues. When I find something that helps me I want to share it with other sufferers!!I have hope now that I can do more than "manage" my symptoms and can live symptom free with continued adherence to this plan. I also want to spread the word to others who have been in the dark about histamine intolerance which is probably more common than we realize. Thank you Anna Keating for doing the work to make it easier for us! I will continue to highly recommend this book to others who I think will benefit by also!!

Diet as in 'weight loss' rather than dietary change.
Simple and straightforward. General information is decent, if you are looking for general information this is not a bad starting point. Most of the book seems to be general information. The food list is presented very directly and that's one of the pieces I was looking for. But primarily I was looking for a book that would have a low-histamine eating plan for a person who has no need to lose weight. If you are purchasing this book as a weight loss aid then the meal plans would likely work for you. But I purchased it for someone who needs to maintain and maybe even gain some weight. No calorie counts are provided, but I suspect they are very low. There are a few contradictions as well that are not clear: i.e. peanuts are high histamine, but natural peanut butter is beneficial; gluten is high histamine, but pretzels are listed as a snack food in the meal plan. It could do with an edit and perhaps a calorie check.

Great explanation of Histamine Intolerance vs. Allergic Reactions
I have been plagued with eczema, hives and all over itchy skin for several years now. I've seen a dermatologist, an allergist, a pathologist who wanted to put me on Dupixent. Apart from mold, grass, fall grasses and ragweed, the tests showed very little. I tried the 6 Food Elimination Diet to see if diet would make a difference (no gluten, no eggs, no dairy, no nuts, no soy, no fish or shellfish). What that left was meat and any fruit and vegetables I wanted. After 6 weeks, my symptoms hadn't changed. Someone suggested I check out that Anti-Histamine Diet, and I ordered Anna Keating's book "The Antihistamine Diet". It was a godsend!!! It explains Histamine Intolerance so simply and clearly . This was miraculous because I had read medical journals online that I couldn't understand at all. Looking at the "top offenders" I realized I had been living on high histamine foods -- primarily, fresh tomatoes (it's the time of the year for delicious garden tomatoes), avocado and bacon . Admittedly, these are some of my favorite foods but cutting them out of my diet made an almost immediate difference. It has been about a week and so far I am six days into being itch-free for the first time in ages. I would have liked a bit more information about the author herself and who might have helped her write this book because I'm sure if I share it with my doctors, they will be skeptical of the attractive young woman on the cover with no DR of PhD near her name. Nevertheless, it is a fantastic little book, simply written with a wealth of information. It includes a meal plan but no recipes, but that doesn't bother me because once I know what foods are good for this condition and which are bad, I am confident I can make my own meals.

Easy and informative
As I am trying to navigate my sudden honest of hives and itchy rashes over the last 6 weeks I am searching for answers I am anxious to get the results of my bloodwork this week but am feeling so much more informed after reading this book I am a nurse and can’t wait to share this with my NP Wednesday I think this could help many people as they struggle to get their hives under control. Additionally my mother battled hives prior to her diagnosis of breast cancer post hormonal and always felt it was fermented foods that triggered her I wonder if there was a connection between her battle with hives and her breast cancer? I want to thank the author for creating this easy to read book

Don't waste your money.
This book contradicts much of what has been written about Histamine Intolerance and promises menus. The menus have complicated recipes which of course are not included in the book. A low histamine diet is generally fairly simple so I am not sure what the author was trying to do with her menus but they are not usable. I already donated mine to the thrift store.

No references
Lots of contradictions it itself as well as compared to what the gold standard RPAH Elimination diet, and research says regarding which foods increase histamine. No references provided to back up claims. Wish I could get my money back.

Great book
This book is excellent, sadly it is an American book with American diet, but I have found it the best book so far.
