Claymore 05: The Slashers: Volume 5

This fifth volume of Claymore concludes the flashback to Clare's past that shows Teresa making a fateful choice that will have disastrous consequences not just for her, but for everyone. Once this flashback is done Clare joins a Claymore team sent to track and destroy a dangerous Yoma known as a Voracious Eater.This is another great volume of Claymore that as well as including some good battles, tells us a little more about the organisation and history of the Claymores as well as the most powerful of the Yoma, the Voracious Eater. Claymore is turning into a very interesting series and although I still don't think the artwork is as good as some other series, it is beginning to grow on me.

I began reading these Claymore stores by Norihero Yagi beginning with volume #1. This volume #5 Marked for death, Part 5, 6, 7 and The Slashers, Part 1,2,and 3 continues the story of how Teresa, who is the strongest of all the Claymores, has been marked for death by the powers in charge for helping the human child Clare. We also get to meet more of the Claymore girls in this series. They are Miria #6, Helen #22,Deneve #15 and of course Clare #47. We also find out that there are 47 regions and depending on your skill level and experience, you are assigned a certain number rating. The lower the number the most experienced and stronger you are supposed to be to fight the Yoma.They are hired to kill an especially strong and vicious monster which is a male voracious eater. The rest of the story is about how they are battling this monster, which will be continued in Volume #6.In conclusion, if you are a fan of the Claymore series you will enjoy reading this volume.Rating: 4 Stars.
