Works great for me.
This is a great brush for applying highlighting powder. It picks up just the tiniest amount and I can sweep it over my cheekbones once and I'm done. This brush may be used for applying chemical peels but it works great for hiighlighter as well. I wanted a fan brush with minimum bristles that wouldn't pick up too much powder. I suppose I could even trim these bristles if I wanted to and it would still be awesome. It's the perfect size for highlighting the under eye area and the tops of my cheekbones. I swipe it across the pan once and then tap the excess off and then apply. This brush was super cheap but it works as well as any expensive fan brush, probably better. It has synthetic bristles, which is fine with me. When using highlighter, the fewer the bristles the better. This brush is really great and a true bargain. I highly recommend it for applying highlighter powder. And of course, you can use it to apply a chemical peel too!

Strong and Soft!
I bought this fan brush to use with my TCA peel. It works very well. It helped me apply the serum in a nice even layer and kept it from running down into my eyes. This works much better than a cotton ball or pad and it helps reduce the amount of serum being used for each application. I have saved a lot of money by switching to this brush! I used to use cotton that would absorb as much as I wanted to give it, which was always too much! This brush only holds what it can so you're not wasting a lot of expensive serums! I have had this brush for about 1 year and have used it about 10 times and it is still in great shape! I use a 14% TCA peel so I think that's pretty nice this brush has held up so well! I am very happy with the quality and longevity of this brush!

No longer use it as it was intended
Good quality. I originally bought this to go with the lactic acid serum. I was fine during all stages of the serum except the last one when I was at full strength at which point it burned my face. It took a week to heal and I didn't notice any scar fading at all...but I know it takes a while to work. More effort than it was worth in my opinion. I have stopped using it and have gone to a prescribed ointment for my scarring in lieu of the chemical peel route. It was the same price as one bottle of the serum but I use it twice a day with no nasty side effects to my skin and in 2 weeks, I have noticed a substantial difference in the scarring. BUT, I found another great use for this brush. When my skin is really dry, I will use this to do an oil cleaning routine on my face. I pour some almond, avocado, or vitamin E oil (the Jason brand is GMO free and has almond and avo oils in it) into a small dish and use the brush to spread it on evenly, just like I would have done with the chemical peel serum. I used to do it with a cotton ball but kept finding the cotton getting stuck to my face, especially around my eyes, which was not pleasant.

Will never apply a mask without this again
This worked perfectly to apply my face mask last night. . Unlike when I had to apply with my fingers, this brush allowed me to apply the mask evenly, smoothly, and get a nice coat of it on my face. It also helped me apply faster so that part of the mask wasn't drying while I was still applying. Will definitely never apply a mask without one again. . I washed it afterwards and this morning it was dry and held its shape.

Bristles are too stiff
I bought this brush to use with a glycolic peel, and I thought it might be useful with other skincare products and makeup as well. However, the brush has not really worked well with anything I have tried it on, and I have not used it much since buying it. The bristles are extremely stiff and thick, but also somewhat sparse--there are some gaps between the bristles that accumulate too much product. I felt like I was wasting a lot of product, and I had better results applying the peel with my hands. The stiff bristles made it more difficult to apply product as well, they tend to miss some areas, and scape product back off areas where it has already been applied. The brush may be more appropriate for thicker products like clay masks, but I would not recommend it for thinner peels or makeup.

Too stiff for tca and glycolic acid peels
The bristles on this brush are too stiff for glycolic acid or tca serum. The bristles poke your skin and flip the acid around during application onto your face; even when using it slowly and gently. When using, some of the glycolic acid actually flipped/splattered into my eye! That was scary. I have used glycolic acid for chemical peels many times before with a softer fan brush and had no issues at all. But I believe this brush is kind of dangerous to use for that. I might try to use the brush with a thicker lotion at some point but I will never attempt to use it with any kind of acid solution again.I would recommend to anyone that is purchasing this brush, that they use it to only apply water on their face first. That way they can determine if any liquid flips or splatters before they try it with any kind of acid.

It's a brush. It brushed.
So this review is kinda obvious I guess. It's a cosmetic brush. It worked. It brushed. It was soft and bristles haven't come out. If you want to hear how well the bristles caressed my face or how smooth the peel went on because of the quality of the fine, individually formed, and hand compressed bristles, this isn't the review for you. If you want to hear about the beauty of the grain of the wood or how professionally painted the handle was, also not the review for you. It's a brush. It brushed. 5 stars!
