Janome Purple Tip Sewing Machine Needles

I recently decided to make a jelly roll rug. How hard could it be? Well, it was a nightmare as my machine was skipping zig zag stitches no matter what settings I used. I use a workhorse vintage Singer and I resorted to breaking a modern machine out of mothballs to try again. Same result. I saw recommendations for these needles on a FB jelly roll makers page and bought them with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. No more skipped/missed stitches. No need to launch sewing machine through a window. No more unpicking. The needles went through all the layers (8) of fabric and wadding without missing a stitch. They'd also be good for heavy fabrics, denim etc. Pricey, but worth every penny!!

It’s magic! These needles completely solved the problem of skipped and uneven stitches on my Janome machine. But, while I’m pleased to have cured the problem, it does raise a couple of issues: - Why should I have to buy special needles for my machine to work properly? Janome should either solve this problem with their machines, which they are clearly aware of, or make ALL their needles in the purple tip format. - I normally use ballpoint or jersey needles with stretch fabrics, as advised, to avoid making holes in the fabric. These purple needles are definitely not ballpoint, they are quite sharp. So, is there a risk of damaging my jersey fabrics?

Ich RASTE AUS!!! Wollte meine JellyRoll Rugs mit herkömmlichem Nähgarn nähen, weil ich von dem so ziemlich alle Farben habe..keine Chance. Egal, ob Markengarn, egal, welche Nadel ich probiert habe, egal, wie viel ich an der Spannung gedreht habe.. NUR Fehlstiche beim Zickzack. Und meine Maschine ist frisch gewartet, hat schon alles Mögliche bewältigt. Das einzige, was ging, war Stickgarn, aber das fand ich wegen der Reißfestigkeit nicht optimal. Ich hab ne Janome, also hab ich in meiner Ratlosigkeit den „Geheimtipp“ purple tips probiert. UN-FREAKIN-FASSBAR. Meine Jamie näht meine JRR mit jedem Garn, auch dem günstigen und in schnellem Tempo so zuverlässig, wie ich es von ihr gewohnt bin. Null Fehlstiche. Dobby ist glücklich!

Good needles, work well

These needles are very useful for machining thick or heavy material on a Janome machine. The normal needles do not give a good tension to the seams.

Janome needles are the only needles that I use on my machines. The purple tip needles are great for making quilts.
