6 pack is the best deal.Although the instructions say to take 250mg (2 capsules) a day, actually the daily value of Niagen has not been established yet. According to many comments online, 500mg (4 capsules) is the minimal dose, so 6 pack is basically 3 month supply. 6 pack saves you $60 a year comparing to 3 pack, or $172 comparing to single bottles.I have been talking it for about a week, and seems I'm getting the "vivid dream" effects (not as vivid as I thought maybe) many people described online when taking 500mg altogether at night, and didn't feel a thing when to separated doses in the morning and evening. I'm 170lb, so I believe 500mg is the minimal for average people.Please be aware this is just my personal experience not medical advice, I'm not qualified for that.

Similar to others, I'd seen advice online about 500mg being the minimal dose, but I found the "vivid dream" effects to be just a little too strong for my taste, despite the other effects (generally increased memory level and alertness) working as advertised. Without more study, a strong psychological effect like that should be worrisome. But OTOH, I found two capsules in the morning to have basically no effect on me at all.As with most medicines or drugs, the smallest possible effective dose should probably be used.I find 2 in the morning and 1 in the evening to be a good happy medium. I'd advise purchasing a single bottle and determining how well it works for you before going for a 6 pack, however.
