Whimsical Practicality Checks Birthday Cake Borders

I am always going to order from them in the future. It was easy to put on. I suggest to map out where you are laying these ahead of time. Make sure the meeting lines are on the side and less noticeable too. It's ok my son loved it and it tasted good.

I was SO SO pleased with these for my son’s racecar birthday cake! Followed the directions to freeze the sheets 5 minutes prior to peeling and they lifted right off of the backing. I wet the cake a little (very very little to prevent color bleeding!!) and they stuck on well! Totally added that Pop that the cake needed to fit the theme!!For reference, the 3 sheets that come with one order exactly covered my 10” round base cake perfectly.I will say that if you wet the cake too much under the overlay, it will bleed through the ink, so make sure you don’t do that :) but it still looks impressive and fancy no matter what! We got so many compliments on this home decorated cake!!

Used this for a “one happy dude” themed cake and it came out perfect. We decided to make the cake at home so we used this pattern to tie in the theme. Make sure you read all the directions very carefully as they are very specific. Other than that application is fairly easy as long as directions are followed. Having a mist bottle on hand makes a big difference. Overall I’d say a good value for the money and some party guests wee very impressed about the pattern.

I received this item three days after placing the order. The item and shipping envelope was visibly bent when received. When opening the bent packaging envelope, the Checkered Birthday Cake Border was broke in multiple places. I proceeded to continue opening the package because I was going to try and salvage what was still intact because I needed the image for a little kids birthday cake. After fully opening the edible image, I discovered that the print was old and stale. Due to the image being stale it was completely brittle and crumbled.

I was a bit leery about using this product. I didn’t know if I would be able to pull it off. But I figured I’d try and glad I did. I volunteered to make my grandson’s smash cake for his first birthday. This was my first attempt at decorating a cake for such an important event. We wanted it to match the decor and best way was to have checkerboard pattern on the cake. This product was perfect for what I was wanting to accomplish. There are directions included that are easy to follow. The only issue I came across was when taking the backing off of a strip. Probably a user error, but just in case I’m not the only one that misunderstands the directions I’ll elaborate. It states to take the backing off gently, which is very easy if you realize what backing they’re referring to. The 3 strips come on one sheet - this is the backing they’re referring to! When I took the strip off the sheet I was attempting to “take the backing off” a phantom backing at that. It isn’t clear that the sheet is the backing they’re referring to. I finally decided to cut a small pice off of the strip and put in my mouth. It started to dissolve, that’s when I realized I had already removed the backing. This may seem like a silly misunderstanding, but I can’t be the only one that didn’t get it the first go at it. Figured I’d keep others like me from wasting time trying to remove something that wasn’t there. Other than that, I have nothing but favorable feelings for this product. I was unsure how it would ultimately end up merging with the icing, but it does so perfectly. You wouldn’t even know it was a decal once it has time to merge. At first it seems like the decal will remain obvious, but that’s not the case. It becomes one with the icing like it was the icing. So, for anyone who wants a professionally looking cake created by an amateur this is for you! You’re sure to impress others with your decorating skills!
