Great but a bit harsh on hands
Changed my regular handlebars with these. My previous handlebars had ergonomic grips and were comfortable. They were just tiring on longer rides as I could not change my hand position. These bars are great for changing hand position. The only issue is that they are thin and quite hard. So I started getting hand numbness while riding. There are other factors which cause numbness (seat position/height, core strength etc) but just something to consider when purchasing that it is a different feel to the ride. The shape of the bars do allow for creative hand positioning though so you do not press on the nerves in the thumb and palms. Overall would not change back to old but maybe more padding on the straight part of the bar would be a better design.

Excellent item
ok I don't normally leave reviews, but I like this item so much I decided to.The bars are sturdy and well made, the ends fit by tightening a hex bolt in either end of the bars not a difficult job but may require you to buy some alan keys (hex) keys. As none are supplied. Also be aware that the bars are 25.4 dia and my stem was 31.8mm so it required me to change the stem not a major point from me I bought one of amazon as well. But another thing to consider. Its worth checking your bars and stem, where I got caught out was the bars at the end of my bike were 25.4mm but the centre dia at the stem was 31.8 typical of a mountain bike handle bars sets or so im told by the local bike shop. had I realised before ordering I would of went with the 31.8mm version if there was any this size I haven't checked.good points:sturdy well made, fully adjustable ends to allow different types of riding positions,.comfortable hand grips, wasn't expensive as far as handlebars go, fast delivery quality item

What a difference!
Wow, what a difference this made; I should have bought it right away when I bought my bike 6 months ago!The original bar on my Mongoose Crossway 300 was fairly flat and the angle wasn't comfortable on my wrists. With this new bar the angle of the lower part is already a big improvement and the curved shape means I can change position every now and then depending on where I cycle and whether I am getting tired or not; perfect.Fitting it was very easy and straight forward. I took most of my time to remove the grips of the original bar in order to be able to remove the brake/gear levers. The first day I positioned the new bar slightly sporty and the second day I tried a deliberately too vertical position. Just to see how it felt. After some 5 km I stopped and changed back down but not as far forward as on the first day and I think I now have found what's best for me.As far as I'm concerned all bikes should have these!

Horses for courses I suppose
I haven't had occasion to write a negative review for any item I've previously bought on Amazon. I suppose I should consider myself lucky, but it seems that my luck has run out.I am writing this review for two reasons. Firstly as a warning for prospective buyers not to expect too much from this relatively novel design of handlebar, and secondly, to inform any buyer who wishes to return this item because of its unsuitability, that Amazon will charge them £6.01 for the return postage charge.I bought these handlebars hoping that they would help me avoid stiffness I sometimes get in my elbows after riding for a couple of hours. The stiffness is probably due to old age (-I'm 66) as much as to any geometry of my usual, straight handlebars. The reviews for the 'Ergotec' handlebars were unanimously favourable so I took the plunge and ordered a set for Xmas. What a disappointment they turned out to be. I just didn't find them comfortable, no matter what orientation I tried, both in the fixing position of the bars themselves and in my hand placement when gripping them. I found them to be wider than expected(- by 6cm) compared to my usual handlebars, unwieldy and when riding I felt like I was steering a wheelbarrow. I suppose it could be argued that they look impressive and unusual, but in my case that didn't alter the fact that I found them unsatisfactory. I accept that my opinion is completely subjective on the 'comfort' issue and I suppose it's a case of horses for courses, but I feel that some prospective buyers might find my experience helpful. Had I read a review like mine before purchasing I might have been more cautious. I would advise any prospective buyer to try out this design of handlebar before splashing out a non-recoverable £6.01 for the privilege (£24.32 initial cost - £18.31 return refund). As for the return postage, the price charged is almost double that of a commercial courier, and is deducted automatically by Amazon from your refund.

Increased flexibility and riding comfort
I ride a middle range hybrid bike mainly on roads and tracks. The facility to adjust the position od the bars give increased options to suit the style of riding. I have a long body and prefer a forward riding syle however in the winter months I have adjusted the bars to give a more up right position with increased stability. The bars are well engineered and stable, the grips have lasted well. You do need a long Allen key to adjust and tighten the fixing.

Excellent Replacement for Old "Rams Horn" type.
I received the Handlebars in excellent condition and have since installed them on my old 40 year old racing bike in place of the Aluminium Racing ones that previously existed. They have proved to have been an excellent replacement and good value for money.

Exactly as required
Helps cycling posture by a change-able and varied handle location, fitted fairly easily works a treat. It may need a little careful persuasion to fit into the existing pillar clamp but otherwise great.
