Great for cutting zip ties!
Sharp blades. Great for cutting off the excess plastic strip of a zip tie so it’s flush. I didn’t realize these are exactly the same flush cutters that came in a George L cable kit I bought at least 20 years ago. I use those to cut instrument cable flush for solderless cables. Those flush cutters are still working great. So I expect these will last a while too. Nice cutters. Easy to use. Sharp accurate cuts.

Nice Tool
We use these with a group of students. They are easy to hold and have a nice flush cut. They are not expensive, and offer a nice option for beginners.

The Best Little Flush Cutter I've Ever Owned
I've been in electronics for years, and a good pair of flush cutters is an absolute must-have. After using the Hakko CHP-170 for a few weeks, I can confidently say it's the best pair I've ever owned, and it’s an incredible value for the money. The precision is what truly stands out. The jaws come together perfectly, allowing for an incredibly clean, flush cut on even the smallest wires and zip ties. There’s no crushing or fraying—just a perfectly smooth snip every single time. It feels like a high-end tool, but without the high-end price tag. The handle is comfortable and the spring-loaded action is smooth, so it never feels like a chore to use, even during repetitive tasks. I’ve used it on everything from 24 AWG wire to snipping the leads on small components, and it has performed flawlessly. For anyone who does any kind of electrical work, soldering, or hobby projects, this is a game-changer. It's a small tool that makes a huge difference in the quality of your work.

Perfect wire cutters for close cuts.
These wire cutters are very sharp and have no problem cutting wire. They are well made and feel durable. They have nice, comfortable grips and they are very easy to use. These are the best cutters when we need to cut very close, like when my wife is making her craft projects. These are simple and do a great job.

They're perfect for 3D printing. For the money, there are no better.
I bought these for my 3D printers. My tools all have feet and wander off, so I put pencils, tape measures, and now micro-cutters all over my shop so I can find one when I need it. They're more than worth the money for this use. Model makers could likely use them, too. They're substantially cheaper than the equivalent at Harbor Fright and better. The blade are very good and there are no gaps. I wouldn't use them for electronics but they're excellent for other uses. It's probably not fair, but one point off because they aren't the best. They are excellent for what I bought them for.

Recommend!
Great quality wire cutters! Be careful where you keep them, though. They were sharp enough that they accidentally cut through my tool bag, lol. Perfect for a soldering tool kit.

Top Quality Pliers and Cutters!
Hakko is a Top Quality product at a very competitive price. Look no further, these Hakko brand pliers and cutters are made in Italy and built to last. The CHP-170 Micro Cutters come with very comfortable rubber dolphin style grips that make each and every operation extremely smooth and effortless. I build miniature metal models that are extremely tiny and very delicate. I use the cutters to snip the parts out of the thin sheets of metal, and the different size pliers to manipulate the parts to shape per the instructions. At the moment, I have 5 different pliers, and 2 different sets of cutters. Each model is different, and I find myself back on the Hakko website researching a new set of pliers or cutters / snips to help me build my current project that much better, and with a little more ease! Because of the availability of different variations of pliers and cutters from Hakko Tools, my models are built to perfection. The metal model kits I buy suggest using a set of tweezers. Hakko has awesome pliers with tips that are just as small as tweezers — sometimes smaller. Because of the tools size and durability, they make working on delicate projects enjoyable — avoiding the frustrations of not having the proper tool for the job at hand. Next time you are shopping for a precision / Micro tool, skip over all of those cheap “Quality” tools and those overly expensive ones too, and pick up a Hakko CHP Brand Tool. Because of the many differences in each pair of pliers and cutters, it’s best to go to the Hakkousa website and compare each listing. Pay close attention to each description and CAD drawing — if available. Although many of their tools will look similar, there are sometimes very subtle differences in size, width, shape and length. Also, the pliers can have squared or rounded edges, serrated or smooth jaws, flat or round, pointed or even one flat and one round jaw. Some of the cutters have a different degree of angle, position of the cutting jaws, different jaw widths and can also offer a safety clip to prevent clippings from flying up. These are micro / precision tools and are meant to be used for soft precise cutting or where accurate and precision gripping is required — such examples are electronic circuitry, Jewelry Making and miniature metal 3D model making to name just a few. The description for each tool on the Hakkousa website lists the gauge limits of the soft wire for the cutters and the suitability of uses for the pliers. By no means are any of these tools designed to be used in automotive, home repair, marine or any heavy duty application. I’ve stopped looking elsewhere for micro pliers and cutters, and You Should Too!

Came as described. Although is bigger, is as heavy as my other tools, comfortable to use. Cuts flush and can get to difficult knots in the wire. Been using it for a couple months and I love it.

Used this cutter for a few years and has never failed me. I am ordering again.

Use it only for cutting soft wires. The metal blades are soft and I damaged mine trying to cut a steel wire. Now I see that cheaper, good quality cutters have become available.
