Almost ideal... lock feature seemed to slip, but fixed now
Update: My initial 4-star review was based on the lock feature seeming not to engage fully. However, I dismantled the shears (easy to do with hex tools) and realized that all the mechanical parts were fine. So, either some object had gotten stuck inside where the locking rod inserts, or I wasn't squeezing the handles together fully enough to line the lock up correctly. Anyway, I re-assembled the shears and have not had a problem with the locking action ever since.Original review: I am happy to have these pruning shears. So far the cutting function is very clean, and the overall build feels solid yet not too heavy. Two minor drawbacks were very easy to fix: the metallic handles are smooth and not at all tacky, so they wanted some rubber or other grippy stuff applied; and also these shears, being dark grey, don't catch the eye much if they've fallen by the wayside. So, colored rubberized shrink-sleeves (a product I already have for key coding) fixes both of those issues (and I can always remove these bands or upgrade them later).A more serious frustration [was] that the lock has ceased to engage well after a few weeks. When I slide the button inwards, it seems to go where it should, but then will easily disengage, as if the pin (or the edges of the sleeve it fits in) has become rounded. When I saw a tiny recessed hex socket screw lined up with the lock mechanism, I was sure that I could fix the problem by tightening that screw, but even at its tightest setting the shears pop open immediately. For my main purpose -- hiking around to cut ecologically harmful encroaching plants (so-called "invasives"), removing and re-pocketing the shears often -- the failure to lock closed [would be] pretty serious...

Lightweight & Durable
Fits nicely in hand. Sharp blade gives the performance I need. I'd buy it again.

Excellent Piece Of Machinery
The shears in the big box stores are dull junk. These easily cut through 3/4" with 1 hand and almost 1" even with effort. The looks are attractive but when you see how well it's made and the quality of steel, you will be happy with your purchase. You get what you pay for, and often top quality isn't much more expensive then the junk. The Lowes & Home Depot only offer a limited selection with THEIR margin in mind, not top quality. Made in USA is a bonus.UPDATE: I've Mis-Placed Mine! Very much want to buy another of same. Where?

Great customer service from Mtn Tree
I received shears that are NOT Mtn Tree brand. Product is labeled Qimh brand and is made in China. Blade is misaligned and doesn't cut. Turns out that a predatory foreign seller that does not have the rights to sell Mtn Tree products was using the Mtn Tree product page to sell cruddy Qimh shears. I contacted Mtn Tree directly and had a wonderful experience. Steve, the owner, went out of his way to resolve this issue. Rest assured that in the future Mtn Tree pruners sold on Amazon will be authentic quality products.

More expressive is not always better.
It sticks. Hard to hang on to.

Good shears, they’ll last
These are sturdy, high quality shears that just work and will last. My only small complaint would be how slippery the handles are, otherwise perfect. I have two; the first had a lock slide that was not great but they seemed to have improved that in newer models.

Impossible to hold
These would be great garden shears if there were some sort of rubberr or other "grip" on the handles. The shape is wonderful, quality of material great, cuts perfectly but YOU CANT HOLD THEM WITHOUT THEM SLIPPING FROM YOUR GRIP as the handles are polished and have no grip. I'm going to look for some of that rubber stuff you dip tool handles into so that I can use these but that should not be necessary in an otherwise excellent product.

These Will be Around Long After I'm Gone!
Someone borrowed my gardening tools and then returned all of them to me except my hand pruners. I bought these to replace them. I'm glad they lost/stole my old ones. These are well made and easy to use. I won't lend them out!
