Mediocre at best...
Marginally helpful on some topics, but overall there's a lot of stuff in this book which seems so generic as to be useless. This is probably partly due to it covering such a wide range of production years (2000-2011) but it also just seems like there's some things missing on certain procedures, or that they're explained and photographed rather poorly. Have also found at least a couple of instances of a reference being made to something on another page, and when you go to that page the information isn't there, or is somewhere else entirely in the manual, so it really doesn't seem like they're proofreading this thing very well. If you can get it cheap/used it might be useful just to have around in a pinch, but personally I've found YouTube user ChrisFix's instructional videos about his 2001 Mazda B3000 (which is very similar to my 2002 Ranger XLT) to be a far more useful resource.

Could have more detailed information
I am a bit disappointed in the Chiltons manual for my 2002 Ford Ranger. Years ago Chiltons was the "go to" choice for shop manuals if you didnt want to spend $200 for the OEM shop manuals, but I haven't bought a Chiltons book in many years. I chose the Chiltons manual based on my experiences of 40 years ago, and the local auto parts store wanted $40 for the Haynes manual. So far I have changed the front shock absorbers, the headlight assemblies, replaced the tailgate latch and have done some work on the front suspension. I haven't found the information in the Chiltons manual all that concise or helpful. I have had to either muddle my way through or looked for U-tube videos for help. This book assumes a significant amount of prior knowledge and could stand more detail.

It is a good reference book
My husband was able to replace the fuel pump on our 2004 ford ranger and save us quite a bit of money.

Very good book
good book with much information on making repairs for this truck.I wish there was more information about minor cosmetic repairs with parts like the pick-up truck bed gate, etc.

Buy the shop manual
Not enough detail in step by step and diagrams are minimal

Chilton Automotive Repair Manual for Ford Ranger Pick-Ups 2000-'11 (26689)
Bought it to change out the heads, have not used it yet. Chilton and motors has always been more than useful.
