They work great!
I read plenty of reviews about these Rotopax locks both on Amazon and off, noting the positives and what some have perceived and experienced as negatives. I took the plunge and ordered a pair for my two 2-gallon cans, fabricated a pair of steel mounting plates to fit a Baja Rack roof rack with a 5" rail, and mounted them to the plates. Once everything was mounted and I figured out not to lock the cans down too tightly, these locks have worked great. I keep them clean and oiled with a bit of Tri-Flow, they've come through without a hitch after heavy rains and snows, with no binding with the pins or cylinders. A great design, materials and operations, I'd buy them again!

Easy to use and holds very well
The locking mounts work great, they don’t move at all during driving. They’re very easy to pull off and refuel. The cans fit nice and tight and they were easy to install on my bed rack.Worth the price.

Nice product, but be aware as to what you are buying first. There are some caveats.
Be very aware as to what you are buying. The bullet description says "Ready for 2 Rotopax containers." That is simply not true. You need to purchase the extension in order to get this to work with two containers. This item by itself will only allow one container to be mounted.As others have mentioned, if you use the extension with this locking unit, the locking feature is useless as the containers can simply spin off. Granted the locks may deter some people, but do not expect it to provide security.Also be aware that if you buy the "RotopaX Rotopax Spare Tire Mount RX-TM", you'll need to either drill holes in the spare tire mount (which I did), or get a mounting bracket adapter as the holes do not line up.Those issues aside, the product is well made and feels solid.

I have a couple of these on my Jeep for gas and water cans. They work well. I’m not worried about anything falling off.

Exactly what I needed
I installed a custom mount for a Fuel Pax gas can mounted on my spare tire and wanted to make sure someone doesn't just unscrew the tank and walk away. So I bought the locking RotopaX mount lock and this solved my problem. Simple to install and use. Materials are top notch and should last a very long time. I do think the price is pretty high for this small part, but that's what happens when you own a JEEP (Just Empty Every Pocket!)
