So great for younger kids
Love love love this product! I have early elementary homeschool kids who are bright, but still kids. One loves books and they other loves "guys". He loves handbooks and guides like encyclopedias of all the Pokemon or all Superheroes and will memorize them. I am so happy to find this product that adds a more educational element to that. They two of them have spent hours so far reading all the little elemental super guys. There have been some complaints by other reviewers about it not being in number order, but I like it. It is color coded on the side, so you can quickly reference the periodic table, use the number to find the color, and then find the element in numeric order. It's really not hard and organizing them by family breaks it into useful and less intimidating sections. They like it so much that the included poster has earned the very coveted front of fridge location. We are going to study chemistry in more depth this year, but if all they get are what they have learned this summer from this book, I'd be content.

Learn something.
Bough this for my 8 years old who LOVES Basher books. Their format is the best for a quick learn, and one is always in her lap in the car. And, to tell the truth, you will learn right along with them. Easy and fun to digest, these books offer a fast insight into the topic presented. The next step is researching what interests her most from each book, fostering her creativity and thirst for knowledge and the exploration of the world around us.

Surprisingly Geat!!
I just had to write a review, This book really surprised me! Bought it over a year ago and my 8 year old still loves it today. He refers back to it regularly. I definitely did not have high hopes for this book. How do you make a table of elements interesting for a child? I would have told you” you dont.” Even after looking through it i still wasn’t convincing, but my son loved it. He put the poster that comes with it on his wall and he looks at it all the time. My son says he loves how they make different little characters to represent each type of element and they describe the element’s characteristics like they are personality traits. I will take a photo of a page so you understand what im talking about. i must say my son is the type of kid that likes science and stuff like that so i dont know That every kid would like this, but if you have a little future scientist in your home i recommend this book for sure! I think the age range is about 6-12, give or take

Makes Learning Fun and Memorable
I love these Basher books. In particular, my daughter enjoys the science ones, but I think all the topics are worthy of looking into. They take subject matter seriously, but use bright and colorful illustrations and characters to get kids interested, and also help them remember the information better. We homeschool, and these are great books for any homeschooler's bookshelves. They would also be great for teacher's classrooms and for public school children who might be struggling with a subject or perhaps are just not that interested in a subject. Or if your child has a strong interest in any particular area, they would enjoy reading about it on these Basher books.I would recommend them starting around grades 3 and up. The science books held my daughter's interest up into middle school and even in 9th grade right now, she still likes all the science ones, and likes flash cards on the period table as well.Just type in "Basher" under the books section here at amazon and it will pull up a bunch. They have books on grammar, mythology, history, states and capitals, and more. Also, most public libraries are bound to have a handful of Basher books as well.

Always better complete!
Honestly, this has been more helpful to me in bridging my memory gaps(if I learned the info in the first place) while my young science whiz tries to quiz me about everything he's learning. While the entries are shorter than other Basher books(pic & info has to fit on 1 page instead of 2 for most of the elements), they are no less engaging. The book is divided by types of elements, so if you're wanting to gonin numerical order you'll be jumping around quite a bit, but the chapters really make sure all the families stay together and in true Basher style puts the focus more on understanding the element and what is does or can do than just memorizing the name and number.Bonus, the poster is awesome!

My kids love this book.
My son saw this book in school and said he liked it and wanted his own copy. As a scientist, I had to investigate. I utilized the 'look inside' feature and found I couldn't turn away! I kept looking and the pages kept turning. I bought the book and both my son and daughter have really enjoyed it. They've even made a game of choosing an element number and the one you choose will describe who you are. I'm very pleased with the purchase. It's a great introduction to the periodic table, to the elements and how they're used in your everyday world. For reference, my son is 12 and my daughter is 10.
