Badger 5 Garbage Disposal, Must Re-Use Old Power Cord
We had 2 Builder grade InSinkErator disposals in out kitchen. The first lasted 8 years. Now at 10 years the second broke down. Not too shabby for a device warranted for 3 years. I replaced both with these InSinkErator Badger 5 Garbage Disposals. Except for the power cord, installation was super easy and straight forward. These Badgers do not come with a power cord, so you have to remove the cord from the old unit and reinstall it in these new ones. I can only recommend watching a demo online as this is not a simple process however can be accomplished by most. Other than that, these units fit right into the old fixture with a simple twist, then use the included "L" shaped wrenches into the bracket rings to tighten. Also, If connecting to a dishwasher, the plastic drain plug must be knocked out (this Should have been an external cap to prevent it from being overlooked) and removed from the disposal grinding area prior to installing it.

Great For Replacing Previous Disposal
I had this disposal when I was forced to replace it due to me dropping a metal nut in the old one…Anyway, it was really easy as the old mounting kit was obviously still there, so I just had to swap it and then redo the wiring, I had it done in 30 minutes!

Great Unit
Is perfect with the cord already attached for convenience. I do wish they would install a cap at the dishwasher port to remind of the knockout needs removed.

Very happy!
Disposal unit arrived quickly as promised and worked fine. Only issue was that there was no instruction sheet/booklet included. Luckily, I had installed them before so there was no problem.

Good replacement at a good price. Was easy to install after watching a YouTube video.

Exact replacement is available after 30 years!
Exact fit replacement for the one that was installed in our house in 1995. It was an easy DIY install. The hardest part was getting the wires and conduit in place as our installation was hard wired. The mechanism that holds the disposer in place while you align it was stiff. I hard to work it back and forth a few times and I even lubricated it so that it would rotate easier. The ID of it was tight on the OD of the disposer.
