Perfect for a zoo visit
Sturdy Brand that doesn't fail on look, style and quality. Perfect for a visit to the local zoo to see in the nocturnal exhibits. Even the keepers were really impressed by them.

Great value mini red light torch
Great little red light torch. Not the brightest light you would ever see buy more than enough for easy terrain or viewing items in a closer proximity. If on more ‘extreme’ terrain would recommend this torch coupled with a brighter headlamp. In most part I purchased this to use during astrophotography trips where having your eyes adjusted to the dark is useful!! This item enabled me to see all my camera settings and the closer environment…will also be useful for those winter dog walks when the darker nights hit.Cant comment on battery life but it hasn’t died on me yet! When it does it is easy and quick to change. Great item that is good value for something that is essential for nighttime outings.

Great Night Pilot Companion (Red Light Variant)
I bought this for use in the cockpit of a plane whilst flying at night. The red light is bright enough to see and the wavelength of the red light allows me to retain my adjusted night vision to be able to fly safely at night under VFR.Worth noting that the red light is provided by a red LED and not a white LED with a red filtered lens. There are three modes; bright, dull and strobe. I was worried that I would be bombarded with flashing light when I activated the switch after not having turned off the light from the strobe setting, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found the torch resets itself to the default setting of bright when turned off for longer than 20 seconds.I have since purchased a backup as the price of £8 is a good deal for this product. It is much better to have a second unit ready to go should the batteries expire at an inconvenient time when busy with more important things like looking for traffic.

Excellent
This is a very small torch with a big light. It is easy to carry or attach to a belt. It lights up the night sky really well. The torch has two settings , a small intense one & an expanded light. Very pleased with it

Not perfect but...
First things first, for the price this a well built little flashlight. Id actually rate it 4.5 stars if I could. I own a Celestron astronomy flashlight that I bought for, well erm... astronomy. Its trash and cost four times as much. This modest little red light torch crushes it. Note, the bright mode is quite bright, but the dim setting is perfect for astronomy.Pros.Excellent build qualityEven light pattern, ideal for astronomy useTakes both AA and 14500 rechargeable batteriesCons. No battery includedA funky switch activation patternThe cons are minor, if your looking for an astronomy flashlight it's right here. Don't pay 20/30 quid for something from an astronomy retailer just because it is branded, this 7 quid torch beats them all.

Stopped working within one month :(
The torch lasted a month of infrequent use. It led a pretty pampered life, which is why I was surprised that it stopped working. No drops, no water, mostly carried around in a pocket by itself. When it worked, it was pretty good, nice bright beam and . However I am not impressed that it just stopped working while on a camping trip. Luckily I had alternative lighting to see me through the rest of the trip.Maybe I'm just unlucky as the return window closed two days before it gave up the ghost. I would save my cash for something more reliable.

Pros and Cons - Versatile!
Here's what I thought:Pros:-Can adjust focus of the beam very easily-Easy to change the battery-Multiple modes-Small size so its easy to fit in any pocket-One of the cheapest red torches availableCons:-The beam is not that bright compared to expensive alternativesOverall, I was very happy with the product but perhaps paying more money for a better alternative would be better for some.
