No Roses for Harry!

My son and I loved reading this book. The story holds the attention of the most squirmy kid, and the reader enjoys how the story unfolds to a funny conclusion. I buy this book for lots of little kids, especially now that it comes as a board book and it can be around for generations. The other books in the series are also a good read.

As far as the quality, this was a replacement. First book came with the edges of the cover ruffled and ripped. Seller responded and sent replacement quickly. New book is in perfect condition. No complaints! Regarding the story, it’s wonderful! This was part of my children’s library twenty years ago and I still love it! This was one my kids asked to read over and over again. It’s funny and sweet and just perfect. Thanks!

I've always loved the Harry the Dog books - and this is one of my favorites. Just gifted this to several small persons - always a hit!

Just enough tension to keep the interest of our 16 month old granddaughter, and a happy ending for both dog and bird. A terrific addition to her Harry collection!

This was a gift for a child whose was learning English as a second language. It is also a favorite of mine from when I was in grade school.

I bought this for my cousin because I had fond memories of my own grandmother reading this book to me before she passed. He loves to read and be read to so I knew I had to share this fond memory with him.

Harry has personality, ideas, loves his family and they love him. A story that unfolds with a beginning, a middle, and a good ending. This book was read to me when I was little and today is one of my granddaughters favorites.

It is a wonderful book with fun pictures. Unfortunately the book was creased on the cover and throughout but I don't have time to return and get it back for the event I need it for.

I loved reading about Harry the dog when I was a child, and this must have been one of my most-borrowed library books, so I was delighted to find it still in print all these years later. 'No Roses' is Harry's second adventure. It's Harry's birthday. Grandma has lovingly hand-knitted him a sweater. Although it is cosy and snug, it's covered in roses, so Harry decides it has to go - with hilarious consequences, as ever. Any child (or adult) who's ever received a gift that wasn't exactly to their liking with sympathise with Harry's plight in this story. Gene Zion spins a good yarn, and Margaret Bloy Graham's wonderful illustrations bring Harry to life. The little dog's glum looks as he walks around town wearing his sweater are a sight to behold! 'No Roses for Harry' is a great book to share with your little one. If this is the first time you have met Harry, then his other adventures - ' Harry The Dirty Dog (Red Fox Picture Books) ' and ' Harry By The Sea (Red Fox picture books) ' - are well worth a read.
