I had a lot of problems putting this controller together. The silicone part behind the PS button doesn't look like it will fit. It doesn't look like it does on my original shell. I promise, it fits. I even cut the holes on the silicone, which was unecessary. The screw holes on the hand grip part, don't line up. I don't know whos fault that is though. I did use a bottom shell from a different company, but it could have also been the original innards that loop around that make it not line up. I used a heat gun to help. I also cut the little stems that usually lock the top and bottom together...those little clips that usually break the first time you open the shells to mod? I figured I didn't need them. There are gaps in the seems by the triggers. I don't know if it is because I broke apart the clips? It doesn't bother me, but I see a lot of reviews and most people don't like that. I think it looks great and everything feels solid and works the way it should (I always test all features as soon as I get it together) I also have a clear hard shell skin coming in to protect it. All in all, I know buying Dualshock parts is an adventure because you don't know what you are going to get, especially if you aren't sure what it is that you already have. This is a great piece that works for me!

Controller texture is great, very soft feels good and the pink color goes well with the black. I suggest making sure you have the proper controller. I did a practice run on my broken controller just to practice taking it apart and the screw assembly on the mainboard was opposite from this faceplate. But luckily it fit on my new controller which they advertise on this product. The screws were a bit tight getting them into the faceplate but I know it will hold just be carefull to not strip the screws (thankfully it comes with extras). Last thing is when I got it all assembled and tested it out, there was a lot of rattling. Where the bottom screws set in the faceplate they fit through this hole that attaches to the mainboard where the vibrator rotating things are (idk the name. I'm pointing to where I mean in the picture.). All I did was put some electrical tape around the post where the screw sets and no more rattle. Minus that setback the faceplate looks great and feels solid.

Super pretty and all but doesn’t fit the PS4 controller they claim it’s made for. I looked it up and there’s like one model of PS4 controller this will fit, only. So... they need to specify that in the description. That this will fit ONLY a specific PS4 controller type/edition. That way we don’t waste our time and money buying this to try it and find out it won’t work.

when i bought this, i had the idea in my head that u needed to unscrew the controller. in reality, you have to take apart the whole controller and put everything back into place. it was not that hard at all to disassemble, but if you are uneducated about simple motherboard installations and such, please watch a youtube video. disassembley of a ps4 controller is super easy with guidance! faceplate feels quiet smooth and came in great bubblewrap packaging. it comes with a tiny screwdriver (perfect fit for your ps4 controller screws!), 4 tiny extra screws, and a plate pusher tool that will help you disassemble your present controller.

Bought the chameleon shell and I think it looks great! My only problems with it are due to it not being made for my controller, but with a few adjustments, it's in 100% working order~ (I couldn't find a compatible shell for my controller, so I figured I'd buy an incompatible one and see just how incompatible it was... Turns out, it's not far off!) 1. Remove the thin plastic bar underneath the touchpad! Otherwise the touchpad won't depress. 2. Lightly shave down the thin plastic that holds the share/options buttons in place. They're Just Slightly too tight & the buttons get stuck. 3. Cut out/shave down a triangle of plastic that sits behind the L1/R1 buttons. Otherwise they're unable to be pressed! (without excessive force anyway) The 3rd step is the only part I had any trouble with bc they're in a sort of awkward spot... but overall pretty easy! I haven't noticed any drawbacks to removing/shaving down any of these pieces. Just be careful when removing the plastic by the triggers!

The shell feels very smooth compared to the original shell

I really wanted to like this product, but it just didn’t do much for me. The installation wasn’t too bad, but it can be pretty timely for something that doesn’t fit the controller quite right. There is a lot of space between the back and front pieces. The first two pictures are the shell I ordered and the last 2 pictures are of another controller I have.

The product came in a day early and was very well packaged. I already had my original controller disassembled so putting the parts in was easy. The controller looks clean, nice metallic paint with a green and purple tint, loved the way it came together. I only have two minor issues with it. One was the home/PlayStation button the rubber had to be forced into place which was a bit worrisome, but it seems to work just fine. And second was the fitment around the L1 and R1 buttons was a bit off. The case isn’t completely flush but other than those two very minor issues the controller looks perfect.

Definitely difficult to replace the front cover, but once I figured it out it looks great!
