A well engineered product always brings joy
So the pool had a ton of leaves from all the storms and leaves that fell. I purchased a $200 Pool Vacuum with rechargeable battery and spent 20m to pick up like 10-12leaves. Why? Because the design is poor - a narrow slot chokes all the leaves like 1 toll booth open for 6 lanes. While all the leaves get near due to the powerful suction, no leaves actually went in. Also the bad flap meant when you pull it out half the leaves go back into the pool. So I returned it and bought this and WOW! SO MUCH JOY! As a computer Engineer, I love products that are designed well and engineered well. And this is made in the US! Which is a huge plus. While it cost $90, it is so well worth the money honestly. I had maybe a few thousand leaves in the pool everywhere. Some floating on surface. Just maybe 5 min later it was down to like fewer than 20. I only emptied the bag like maybe twice just because. I did not even really need to. All I need to do is ensure I'm moving along and because of the small eddy spiral into the chamber + wide mouth means in one pass, you pick up 95% of the leaves. A second pass and voila! that spot is clean. The bag design is also such that the leaves stay sucked in at end of the bag and don't come out at all. The skimmer worked beautifully as well. It is light weight so even my wife can easily skim the pool or move it around inside the water and collect all the leaves. It is such a fantastic product. I took pics of before and after and in 5m the leaves are all gone and you have a nice clean pool. The battery compartment is possibly the lone area I'm a little concerned about - eventually it will give way and short inside. It just needs a more water tight compartment design. It also had epoxy on the wiring which is fine but may eventually crack. The blades also are nice plastic but will eventually give way. 3 hour battery life is great with 8 batteries but a rechargeable battery pack would have been nice. Just put 8 rechargeable batteries into a water tight design and the IP90 or whatever certification for water avoidance and you're set. Kudos to the company that made this. Fantastic product. Wholly recommended over any other pool vacuum honestly.

A great product but be careful.( See three year followup)
This is a leaf vacuum but it does more than that . It gets everything up except fine dirt. Just put it on the end of the pool pole, turn on and you are in business. A regular skimmer vac has trouble picking up leaves . It gets caught in the vac head brushes. This device has rollers which are about 3/4" higher than the head which sucks up leaves without issue. The downside to this otherwise perfect gizmo is that they do leak on occasion which can cause failure. This has been written about many times in previous reviews. To prevent this I undo the battery pack screws and inspect for a leak after every use. So far there was just one. I just wiped it out and let dry without any issue. If I didn't catch it the batteries would have corroded within a week being immersed in water . I switched the regular alkaline batteries to rechargable. I use the device a lot so that is a money saver. My opinion is that this is a great product even with the leakage issue. You can clean a 36"X18' pool in 15 minutes. Spot cleaning even less. It will not replace your skimmer vac but with this product you will be using it a lot less. BTW no good on dead algae it will go right through the net. Best to use the skimmer vac for that. I find after 3 weeks of opening the algae issue is not there anymore. Fast forward three years . The 75 cent on off switch broke . It is so cheap it is beyond belief . They do not offer a replacement. So shell out another $90? Nope. I bypassed the switch which leaves it on all the time . My on off is just connecting it to the battery pack and then sealing the battery pack . When done cleaning I just unplug the battery pack. Probably just as well. as you need to open it up after every use to check for leaks. Also after three years the chlorine n he pool destroyed the rope holding the net onto the vacuum . Pointless to try to redo a small rope in the net so just buy another net assembly . The net also showed wear after three years. So after all that if I had to replace this device every year I would. It is just a time saver for my leafy pool!

Works super well - especially for the price. Makes my Blaster CG obsolete.
So far, this relatively inexpensive leaf vacuum is outperforming my much more expensive Pool Blaster CG Lithium. I also purchased rechargeable lithium batteries, and the battery compartment has stayed dry so far (knock on wood). This vac does a much better, and much faster, job picking up leaves and larger debris from the pool bottom compared to the Blaster CG. I haven't touched my other Pool Blaster once since buying this, wish I had purchased this from the beginning! Although the fan appears to spin slowly, it must generate strong suction because leaves are pulled into the collection bag on the first pass. It may not have the power or fine filtration needed for sand or silt, but my Dolphin M600 handles that part of the job. Overall, this has been one of my better pool-cleaning purchases, especially for the price.

Unimpressive....
One manufacturing problem, the on off switch doesn't work. Press it 4, 5, 8 times and maybe it will turn off the motor. I removed the switch, by removing one screw, and just moving the leads to the switch is enough to turn the motor on. Clearly the switch is defective. So even when it's turned off, the leads can switch on and allows the motor to turn on again. The only way to ensure that the motor is turned off is to detach the batteries. Given that there's some serious torque on that motor, it should probably fail safe. It doesn't. I got it turned off, left it outside, and 5 minutes later it had turned itself back on again. Which leads us to the next problem. I suppose I should have looked more closely before I bought it, but the device runs on 8 AA batteries. This isn't a very big supply of electricity. I had a big problem with a large quantity of leaves on the floor of the pool. It's going to take a lot of time, well it would if I could trust it to work correctly. I don't think 8 AA batteries are going to do that job. Which means replacing them a couple of times. I'd rather have had a rechargeable lithium battery in the device that could be recharged with out disassembly. Would be nice if it was an add on. Like a battery and charger that could be installed if you purchased it separately. Finally, I did use it a couple of times and it was not horrible, but bringing it up out of the water, it was easy, very easy to lose the bag, and have it sink to the bottom of the pool, which in my case meant fishing for it, because I can't see the bottom of my pool at the deep end. A couple of floats on the bag, to make it just slightly positively buoyant would mean if the bag got detached, it would have a chance of floating up. I realize this might cause problems getting the device to the bottom of the pool so it would have to be just enough buoyancy to raise the bag, but not hold the device up. Maybe a couple of ping pong balls in the bag might be enough to keep it from sinking like a rock. The big problem right now is that the switch is defective. It fails on, so the device is useable, but not in my opinion very safe.

WOW! I can't believe how well it worked!!!
I have to admit I was skeptical about something working well to pick up leaves. We've had many vacuums over the years, and they all promise to do a great job, but in reality, there are few that have been 'great' in my opinion. I thought I'd give it a shot for $179. I'm glad I did! It's a simple process of vortex and catching the leaves in the mesh net, but I'm used to being underwhelmed by pool products saying they're so great and in reality are not. We have two pools (one is ours and one is a rental house next door) and we get so many leaves that vacuuming the pool for the initial opening is usually disastrous because it fills up the vacuum so quickly and you're having to empty it at least a dozen times before you get anywhere. It becomes a cumbersome job. In the attached pictures, I show a few spots where the leaves were, and the final picture is part of the shallow end that I did in roughly 20 minutes. I am elated! The product itself is pretty cheap plastic in my opinion. Wheels on the bottom are plastic, pole connector is plastic, and the unit itself is all plastic. I don't think it's worth the money for the parts by any means, and should really be around $50 for what it is, but if they made this in metal or something that would be super durable, it would be worth the $179. For me, this use alone was worth it. I'm just saying the material is not stellar by any means, but the functionality of it all is spectacular. It came with a rechargeable battery, which you're supposed to charge for four hours upon arrival. I did that and then gave it a go. It has a whirr sound to it and it really created quite a vortex pulling leaves and worms in like a pro. I like the rechargeable battery so we're not replacing those all the time, and I saw another brand on Amazon that had that and I chose this one for the great reviews and the battery portion was an important part of my decision. It's easy to assemble-put the pole adaptor on, unplug it, put the little white mesh bag on, and then put it on your pool pole. Turn it on by pushing a little red button. You can guide it easily with the little wheels on the bottom. I did it with one hand so I could take pictures, and I'm a 50 year old female so was happy with the ease of use! All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase after one use. If it holds up, I'll be even happier. I am only concerned about the sturdiness of it. If I dropped it, stepped on it, or had it fall onto the concrete, I think it would easily break. However, I will be careful with it as you have to be with all expensive pool things. If it saves me time and lets my vacuum do its job, then it's money well spent. I would highly recommend this product!

Great bottom cleaner
Works great! Solved my issue with leaves on the pool bottom. I don’t use it for floating leaves because it’s much easier to just use a net. Only thing I wish it had was, rechargeable port so I don’t have to replace batteries.

Take the time to judge for yourself
I had read many reviews AFTER I purchased, as I looked at the complaints, I became quite concerned. Happily after I recieved it, I went straight out and used it, and happily those negative reviews only told me, folks were more oblivious to proper steps and use of this product. 1st, if you look at the battery secure pocket, the seal is not really suitable for under water, so after installing batteries, it's only common sense to me to then take a sandwich sized zip lock and carefully wrap and seal the unit, then carefully insert battery pack into pocket, it fits tight and sealed battery pack famously, then replace the pocket's cover, not one part of my pack got wet, not even a little. Common sense! 2nd, this unit is being used against the force of water, so if you are impatient and try to force this unit to hurry up and clean, well when it breaks, that's on you, you cannot and should not man-handle it, again common sense! 3rd, I noticed that the deeper the unit went, and my inground pool is 8 foot, the deeper it went, the slower the fan seemed to have spun, which in turn spends the batteries faster as I'm guessing the depth of the pool made the unit work harder, but the unit with patients worked perfectly, it picked up leaves, twigs, bugs, dust, we had it covered for the mississippi winter, the tarp we used collapsed when we took it out a couple months ago, thus dropping alot of debris into pool, with continuous, unsuccessful attempts with the pool net and even our pool robot vacuum, the effort we put into cleaning it up took a toll. This bad boy cleaned it completely up in no time at all, Thank you God!! Lastly, as this is a unit I absolutely plan to use regularly once I get the pool set for summer use, I went ahead a bought rechargeable batteries with the charging unit, this will save you a bunch of time and money, as the seller stated you get on average about 3 hours out of these batteries, I got maybe 2. On the whole, and as you have to make a determination yourself, but the horror stories I found in these reviews were none of what I experienced, not even close, I absolutely would encourage you to give this product a try, thankyou for reading my review.

Good machine…bad customer support
Ingenious design and concept. Battery life suffers with extended cleaning sessions. Mine broke at the point where the device joins the ‘pool pole’ and when I tried to order a replacement part, it’s listed as ‘Out of Stock’. The part needed is at the point of highest ‘tension’ during use. I would expect the company would have anticipated these possible failures and stocked repair parts accordingly. Silly me
