Master kitchen helper!!!
I own a Hamilton Beach Change a Bowl processer which can only grate and slice. Had it for about 4 years and it still works great. I however wanted one that could chop, slice and grate and after looking at the reviews decided on this one.I am really pleased that I did go with it - it works like a dream. I can chop onions, sweet peppers etc with just a few pulses without making salsa-lol!. They come out just as if chopped by hand without all the tears and time to do it. It saves me about an hour a day chopping onions (5lbs minimum) and sweet peppers by hand - I get it done in 5 minutes. All of the other choppers which I had previously made the onions etc very soggy. The slicing and grating works very well too. Very powerful motor.I havent tried making dough etc, but will update my review in a few months when I have tried out other things. At $30 dollars its well worth it. I do hope it last as long as the change-a-bowl.update: My breadmaker stopped working and I mix the dough using the same recipe as the breadmaker with my HB processor - powerful motor - a two pound loaf size mixed in less than a minute using pulse, no sticky mess in the bowl or blade, and the bread came out really great and much better than the breadmaker. I have a Kitchen Aid mixer which I used to mix dough on several occassions, however this Hamilton Beach does the job in much quicker time and easier clean up.I Also grated cheese and ground coffee beans - I am so pleased that I am tempted to buy another of these processors just in case this one stops working and they discontinue the model.

FANTASTIC
I bought this food processor to use with some recipes like pastry, which called for using one. This is my first food processor, I was actually going to buy a mini food processor, but decided after reading several reviews, it wouldn't be a good idea. The ingredients need plenty of room to move around in, if it was too cramped, the motor may burn out. I have a Vita Mix blender, but it didn't work out for making pastry, you need a different blade. So far I've used this for making breadcrumbs, which worked out well. It was fantastic for grated cheese, much quicker than grating cheese with a grater. I didn't buy it to slice vegetables, but recently I used it to slice potatoes, carrots and parsnips for a recipe, I was amazed at how quick it was. My only criticism, is that the slices were very thin, the recipe called for the slices to be 1/4". There is no choice, with this, the slices are slithers. I'm still glad I bought this though, I've used it more that I thought I would. You have to be careful to put the slicer attachment the right way up, otherwise it will grate, that's what happened when I was slicing the carrots! It would have been nice to have another slicer attachment with a courser grater and a wider slicer. I'm still happy with my purchase, it only cost $26.54 when I bought it, it was a no brainer!

Decent Machine for the Price. I'd buy it again.
I own a Cuisinart, but it was packed away from our move, I wasn't able to get to it, and had a lot of chopping coming up, so I looked around at 'cheap' models for a stand-in, and chose this one. I have issues w/ my hands functioning properly sometimes, and need something for those times when a lot of chopping/dicing is required.I paid less for this last year, when I purchased it. It was definitely worth what I paid for it then, and I think it's also worth its current price of thirty USD.This machine has done the job, and done it well. The chute thing - The only thing I've wanted to use that for so far (coleslaw) was a fail. The cute was too small for the cabbage wedges. But I suppose for skinny things like carrots, it would be fine. ( 5-14-17 edit - It shreds carrots as well as my Cuisinart. )If you need something for chopping, and can't spend a lot, try this machine. It does the trick, does it quickly, and does it well.5-14-17 editI have since found my Cuisinart, and left it in the garage. This machine has yet to be unable to do what I need done.

Perfect for my needs
I mostly purchased this to chop onions, which is the bane of my existence. I can fit two medium large onions in there no problem and it's diced in less than a minute. It's not very good at small amounts for obvious reasons. Something that might be useful to consider is that the instructions state that the limit is 2 cups of liquids, you should not make cookie or bread dough in the machine or grind spices, and the machine should not run for more than a minute at a time. The knob may be difficult to turn if your hands are slightly greasy but I have not had an issue with this. You can only wipe the base down with a damp cloth and mild detergent so I'm cautious about keeping it clean since the unit is also white. It's perfect for everything that I want, I'll be making granola bars with them next.I tried using the grating disk for ginger but it's easier to pulse it in the actual container. I also tried to grind half a costco-sized bag of chia seeds in there unsuccessfully. I tried both chop and pulse settings and while there were small bits that sifted to the bottom, a majority of the seeds remained intact.Edit:The granola bars ended up not turning out so well. I used maltose (a thick sweetener) and stuck to the blades and wasn't evenly distributed. Much of the grains and small pieces got stuck in the bottom of the bowl and didn't get processed. I'm sure the performance would improve if I made it in several batches. Oh well, next time.
