Thermal Laminator, 2 Roller System for a Professional Finish, Use for Home, Office or School, Suitable for use with Photos (TL901X)

Purchased this when it was a daily Amazon special and am so happy I did! I've used it to laminate aging sheet music and to protect recipes from the ravages of kitchen spills. Both were easily and quickly done, with great results. The Laminator: It's a lightweight, small footprint device that is very simple to operate. On/Off switch, a release lever to use if the item you are laminating jams, and a 3mm or 5mm switch - relates to the thickness of whatever you are laminating; use the 5mm for thick paper or two regular sheets of paper which are back to back. The 5mm setting is the hottest and the machine takes about 8 minutes to heat up for initial use at this setting. When placing two regular sheets of paper back to back (with recipes on each side), inserting them in the 9 x 12 pouches with the crease into the machine first (any bubbles escape out the open end), I was able to laminate my project in less than 10 seconds. Very quick and easy, and the front end (the part that comes out of the machine first) is cool to the touch with the end out last cooling off in approximately 15 seconds. The laminator remains hot and after multiple sheets, I noticed no change in the output quality of this laminator. The Pouches: The laminating pouches that are used with this machine come in several brands including the Scotch brand. All are on Amazon and you can choose smaller sizes than the 2 large sized ones that come with this unit, but I'd suggest the same size and if you choose to laminate two smaller items you can simply use one pouch and cut the final sheet into two. Tips: Make sure when you are laminating that you have at least a quarter inch around the item you are laminating so that the pouch can adhere to itself - sealing the sides and protecting your item. If you leave the item sticking out, proper adhesion can't occur. Don't put lumpy items in the machine to be laminated. This will jam the machine and won't get the item laminated! Overall, it's a great item for under twenty dollars, and the only real costs are in the laminating pouches so shop around and get the best deal. UPDATE: July 25, 2011 I've been using this product to laminate back to back sheets of recipes, printed on regular printer paper. It works great! Using a 3-hole punch I then put my recipes into a 3-ring binder to have handy in the kitchen. If a page gets wet, I simply wipe it off and keep going. School awards and artwork get the same treatment before being put into safe-keeping. All in all, this is one of the best products I've ever purchased for home and office use. Highly recommend it!

I LOVE this laminator! I don’t know why I didn’t purchase one earlier in life. It was so easy to use to laminate my little one’s crafts from the first year — so I can have them to treasure forever! I was nervous to use it but honestly it was so easy. Worked great. Love the price.

Works just as you would think. Takes a while to heat up but is easy to use. It's not super compact, but can be stored pretty easily since it's just a rectangle. Make sure you use the right thickness for the packets, as they tend to get stuck and not seal if they are too thick. Good product though!

Excellent machine! It jammed up badly one time on me (user error), I had to take it apart and put it back together. I was worried that I had just ruined the machine, but it is still running strong. Super straight forward and easy to use. I've had it for about 5 years now and still no issues. Granted I'm not using it daily so its workload is light with just occasional use but I love this machine.

I have bought three different iterations of this laminator and this one is definitely the best. It’s super lightweight, good quality, and does exactly what I needed to do. I tend to go with brands that have a good reputation, so obviously Scotch is one of those brands. I use offbrand lamination sheets that I also buy on Amazon without issue, so don’t feel that you need to purchase the Scotch brand ones. No issues with jamming, although I have learned the hard way with other laminators that you need to be super sure that you put the sheet in with the closed end first. I’ve worked in special education for a long time and rely on laminators heavily; this is the one you want.

I have had this laminator for 4 years, bought in Dec. 2020. It has crinkled papers but it has a release which makes it easier to remove them and pull them out. It went through phases when it would crinkle the corners but I never knew how it would act as it got older. This could be from me transporting it from home to school. I had been dropped and the bottom broke apart from the screws and it still worked. There were pieces broken in it that rattled and it still worked. It worked for 4 years, again I wish it would have lasted longer. I prefer this one over my other amazon basics one that does the same thing but does not have a release latch. I undecided if I will purchase this one again or a new one, but I am leaning towards this one.

I’ve had a great first experience with the Scotch Thermal Laminator TL901X. I ordered it last night and it arrived at my doorstep just hours later, and I was able to start using it immediately. I paired it with the recommended Scotch thermal laminating pouches and have already laminated 5 items with zero issues. The laminator is very fast, taking about 10–20 seconds per item, and the seal is clean and smooth every time. Setup was easy, and the instructions are clear and photo-based, which I really appreciated. Everything feels straightforward and beginner-friendly while still delivering professional results. So far, I’m extremely happy with it and plan to update my review after a month or two of regular use, as I’ll be using this frequently for work. Unfortunately I can't use! It's a U.S. Plug and it works with 120v 60hz 400w and 2,2 A. Nothing was mentioned. But even, the supplier could inform us and propose us a solution...........

This is one of those things that just works. Super easy to use—turn it on, let it warm up, and feed your sheet through. Comes out clean, no bubbles or wrinkles if you line things up properly. The 2-roller system does a good job keeping everything smooth. I’ve used it for menus, labels, and random documents and it’s been consistent every time. Not the fastest machine, but totally fine for regular use. Feels like a great little home/office tool that does exactly what you expect without any hassle.
