Replaced Old unit. Worked perfect!
I bought this to replace the same model that was installed around 10 years ago. The previous model was never installed correctly so even tho it was functioning it was very loud. As a testament to this product I was able to use the existing housing and easily swap out the fan, the trim, the light etc. It simply plugged in and was good to go took me about 10-15 min where most of the time was spent connecting the housing correctly from the old unit.Great product, nice and quiet now. I used an LED bulb with it at 100w comp. and it was perfect. The fan isn't as quiet as some of those samsung fans but those are 2-3x the price. This one is very heavy duty and I'm currently using in an apartment I rent and don't plan to have to replace it for a long time.Good price good build quality and comes with easy to read instructions if you need them ;-)

Easy to replace burned out motor assembly
I had the same fan model in my bathroom from 17 years ago. The motor stopped working. Buying entire fan was cheaper than just buying the motor assembly. I also saved a lot of money buying a used fan from Amazon warehouse with "like new" condition rating. Fan arrived in as described condition. I suspect someone had ordered it, maybe opened the box, changed their mind, and returned it to Amazon. I could tell it had never been installed.I lifted the motor assembly into place in the existing fan box in the ceiling, plugged in the new motor, and put up the new ceiling grating and light glass (kept the old dirty one for the future just in case). Nutone hasn't changed the dimensions or connections for the model from what I had from 17 years ago. It fit fine, and works great. Avoided major hassle if I had to replace with a different fan model and go up in the attic to replace the box unit and rewire the electrical up there. Not to mention maybe having to patch or paint my bathroom ceiling. On the fan loudness, some reviewers complain about it. I guess it's a matter of preference. Broan/Nutone markets it as privacy noise. I personally agree. I'm fine with the loudness.

It Was Ok for Me and My Circumstance 🤙
Bought this because it's a direct replacement and I didn't want to go into the attic to unmount rewire a new fan. Cool thing about it is the motor pulled out and fits directly into the old one without having to pull the entire frame. Plugged right in. But the light part is different. This one had a regular 2 prong like you plug into the wall. My older one which btw is the same brand and model has a plastic clip and it has 2 sockets. 1 regular and one small one. So I had to use the older light socket portion so it would fit.The sound is ok to me. Who wants to hear what's going on in the bathroom? ... The motor made a slightly loud vibrating noise but with a little push here n there it went to normal. Not bad. It was just aluminum vibrating from the fan.

Well made
Unit is noisy. Purchased because I was replacing the exact same model in the bathroom, so I knew what to expect. It's well made and the installation was simple in my situation.

Replaced the same model, fan went out, super easy!
Had to clean out the old housing from dust build up (we hadn't gotten around to changing this until it actually started to get muggy in the bathroom when we showered and it went out in the beginning of the year) so lots of dust build up, but once we did that initially it was unscrew the fan motor, slide the old out, slide the new in, plug it all back in, and voila! We have a working exhaust fan again!

This unit is noisy.
Install was not easy! Instructions very vague and of very little help. After completing the installation I was shocked at the noise level. It does, however, move the air!! I bought this to replace a worn out Nutone that i had for many years thinking that it would be an easy swap. It wasn't

Purchased For Parts & It Worked!
I attempted to purchase just the motor on our 18 year old model that was no longer working but the two motors I bought were not a good fit (one was much too slow (RPM) & the other had a longer post and didn't fit). As other reviews have stated this model 8664RP is a perfect match for my older "8663/8673 Series "A" Housing". The only difference is the light module has a standard plug on the newer version but that was not an issue since I just removed the fan and fan mount and easily mounted the new fan in the older light. It works like new now.

Works to replace older model
We got this to replace a very very very old model of a similar make. We were able to use the old box and just replace the “guts” and exterior cover. SO MUCH EASIER.
