First off, the net I received was the blue kryptek version and not the standard red and black I expected. Not really an issue but the description just isn’t accurate. I bought this net as a replacement for one I had stolen out of my truck. I used the old net for several months and loved it; it easily handled speckled trout, flounder and redfish. That said, my old net was the PVC coated mesh and this is the rubber coated nylon. Do not waste your time buying this model; the netting is no gentler on fish or less likely to tangle than a standard nylon net. As soon as this arrived and I saw it I ordered a replacement PVC net for it.

Very disappointed in this product. 2 months after the warranty expires the handle failed. The whole thing depends on a small aluminum rivet. Poor design.UPDATE: I contacted EGO and was informed the handle is glued to the slider not riveted. They didn't hesitate and sent me a new handle. Improved their score but I couldn't give 5 stars because the handle did fail.

I bought this in the clear rubber mesh. I have to say, for the most part I absolutely love this net. Without it, there is no way we would have landed any of the hybrid striped bass we caught on our last fishing trip. The one issue I have with it is that sometimes it "hangs up" when trying to extend it. It's like part of it gets slightly twisted and I have to mess with it briefly before it will extend. Very minor inconvenience and easily worked through.

Why 4 stars? My LONE worry is that the net is a bit too heavy, past nets have been fine for the kids to grab and hand to a nearby adult....or help land the fish themselves! This net, while amazing, is likely gonna get dropped and result in a fish or two being lost....its pretty heavy as nets go.In the end, no regrets! The net floats and we catch enough fish to laugh over a few that don't make the net. Now, if my daughter makes me lose "THE BIG ONE", I'll reply back with a follow up of 1 star lol

It is hard to review this item as far as durability as I have not had much chance to use it. The net itself is nice and will accommodate large fish. With the handle fully extended it is a little heavy but is built very sturdy. Overall a very nice landing net.

Don't waste your money on cheaper nets. You won't be disappointed with this one. Wish I had known about these nets sooner.

The was awesome at first. We've caught quite a few bass over 6 pounds this year with the largest being 10. I never felt like the net wasn't going to hold up to the weight. My only complaint is the where the handle meets the extender. Mine came apart after about 3 weeks of use. It appears to have been glue together. Now my net doesn't extend correctly. Basically you can just pull the handle away from the extender and it separates instead of being locked together. It would be a great product if they could work out the quality issues. I ready many reviews where others were complaining about similar issues with the handles breaking but thought they redesigned and had been resolved. I guess not.

This is by far the best net ever made.lightweight extendable and durable. I used it all summer long in many tournaments and it never let me down. I used it for largemouth bass. No more wasting time trying to get your crankbait out of the net .It also floats and the way it extends is awesome . This net is the BEST NET EVER !!!!!!! Just to also add that I had bought a frabill at bass pro and was not happy with it and returned it and than bought this net .

Very cool net. Think I would go with the rubber mesh if I had a do- over but this net will work very well for me. The extension mechanism is awesome.

Had 3 fish dive through the net within first year, 8lb and bigger northern, however contacted the company and they have been excellent to deal with, length extension is great!

It retracts after you catch your fish and enables you to lift the fish with out bending the shaft

Great net for the large pike it was bought for, they can twist and turn like usual and they don't get the net all tangled. Bonus is that it does float as they say it does.
