Ferrous Gluconate, 324mg, 100 Tablets, 3-Pack

If you're even looking at this product you presumably have anemia or have been told you're at risk for anemia. The dose is very high for anyone who does not have anemia. But if you have low ferritin levels, you have probably been told you will need to supplement with a lot of iron for a long time. These are easy to swallow and have minimal digestive effects, taken with or without food. If you have tried taking the more common and cheaper ferrous sulfate supplements you probably know how miserable those are once they dissolve. For me at least these have no significant stomach upset or side effects. I have also had good luck with ferrous glycinate, which is slightly different chemically but another option that's easier on the stomach. This specific product is cheaper though and has twice as much iron per pill, so it's an obvious first choice.

I have to take these everyday. I really recommend them. — they are coated: they dissolve in your stomach, not your trachea. You don’t experience the horrible feeling of tasting iron all day, as you get with uncoated pills. I just had to throw away 2 brand new bottles of iron sulfate because of the horrible taste. 🤢 — it’s gluconate, not sulfate. NIH studies indicate sulfate is higher iron dose, but gluconate is better absorbed. I’ve had better experience with these. It is recommended you take a vitamin E just before taking this, for maximum absorption. Vitamin E is inexpensive. — good price. 3 bottles of 100 pills last me almost a year. You won’t regret these.

Have been using this product for several years - I donate blood regularly and need the replacement iron due to a non-meat diet, and this has been great - I couldn't tolerate other iron supplements due to GI intolerance. This is an iron supplement that I have used for a very long time because it is easy on the stomach. To find it at the amazon price is great.

We used to get the huge single bottle on these pills based solely on price. What we learned to take into account is the # of pills vs the expiration date. It makes more sense to order no more than you will take within the potency date (expiration date). Having said that, it should be noted that the "expiration" date does not mean that on the next day these pills will be poisonous, no way. That date simply suggests the point in time at which the pills may lose some of their potency. We evaluated that compared to the price per amount of pills & concluded that this was the best value .

When it was determined that I had iron deficiency I was told that ferrous gluconate was better than ferrous sulfate because it was less constipating. I have found that to be true but ferrous gluconate is difficult to find. I was glad to find this product on Amazon for a good price. It fills the bill and works well! Prior to taking ferrous gluconate my hemoglobin ran anywhere from 9 to 11. Lately when being screened to give blood it has been 14 and 15! I have used this product for some time now and it is effective!
