I bought the right size led strip but the slot in this channel is so thin (height wise) that the solder joints between sections of the LED strip make contact with the channel, causing a short. I had to rework every connection and apply insulating tape to be sure it will work without shorting out.This tight clearance also makes connecting the wires to power the LEDs very delicate - there's no way to use solderless connectors since there's so little clearance inside the endcaps. The endcaps also don't appear to be as wide as the channel, so the strip can't easily slide inside them to keep the wiring connections from touching the aluminum extrusion. carefully trimming the sides of the LED strip allowed enough clearance. The endcaps are also off-white color and allow light through which doesn't make for the best look from the ends. Would be better if they were opaque.The screws that are included with these strips are, as you might expect, total junk and 4 out of 5 broke off while turning them into pine wood. I even pre-drilled small holes for them and they still broke while tightening them just enough to keep the mounting clips from spinning. Save yourself some time and frustration and pick up some decent #4 x 1/2" wood screws from a hardware store.Of the 10 strips I purchased, one piece of acrylic was not fully frosted, but it isn't too visible once installed and lit.Overall, I'm happy with the final result these lights provide, but was disappointed with how difficult it was to bring it all together, considering how expensive they were ($89.99/5 strips).
