Rust-Oleum 224284 Stops Rust Rust Inhibitor Spray, 10.25 oz

This is a very low viscosity oil used to reduce rusting on uncoated steel and iron. Works great for my purposes. I use it on the blades of hedge trimmers and hand shears and other yard/garden tools. I've used it on the mechanism of various adjustable wrenches, where it not only stops rust it also lubes them. Lots of various uses. Just be aware of what it is and that it is NOT paint.

I am a female, but I still like to keep my tools looking new. I could not find this in any stores once I found it on Amazon. It was the best price ever. I use it faithfully on all my new tools and a shovel. That is five years old looks as if I just purchased it, I’ve even treated my older tools after I’ve cleaned them from rust and they’ve looked brand new. This is a must for people that care about keeping their equipment in tiptop shape. It’s worth every penny. I highly recommend it I buy four cans at a time, so I always have one on hand.

I like the spray and how it looks after drying. But the nozzle is to small to be reused later, and the hole plugs to easily.

I still gave it 5 stars b/c I am sure it works as intended, but BEWARE this is kind of like spraying Pam or maybe a dry WD-40 on your stuff. I thought it was like a clear spray paint. It has a pleasant smell and I can think of other things to use this on. Rust-Oleum does make a product that I was thinking it was.

I followed manufacturer instructions perfectly. Problem was it never hardens. It also wipes off with fingers making it pointless unless whatever you are applying it too stays perfectly stationary and doesn't come into contact with anything else.

As a fossil hunter, I have a lot of expensive gear I go in both salt, and fresh water with. This has been my secret solution for years, but other stores such as Home Depot have caught onto the secret as well. They do not want you to be able to keep a $100 shovel for more than a year, so they increased the price per can to $50. This is not the spray paint, this is the clear enamel. It is magical stuff and will preserve most metal surfaces!
