Ant Stop Granules 300 g, Black

In preparation for early retirement, I qualified as a pest controller in 2016, but because the finances worked out ok, I did not need to put this training & qualification into practice. The benefit I have, is that I can buy professional only pest control chemicals, but for ants, I just use over the counter stuff..but I am very selective about what I use. My home is South facing and by mid-Spring, I get ants coming in the house, which I deal with very effectively with a professional bait station, which kills off a fair few nests, but there is always further nest activity outside, which I had been spraying with a pyrethroid spray. This year, my spray was not totally effective, so I tried this product, which certainly was effective. There are options for using this, either putting down the crystals as they are, which I found to be partially effective, or making a solution and pouring it on the nest. Because the crystals by themselves had not worked, I ended up with a half way approach, as I ended up having to put water on the Crystals to make a solution, which worked very well. I will certainly be keeping this product in the garage for years to come. When choosing a pest control chemical, I do not go by the brand name, I look at the active ingriedient to see if I want that in your home/garden and to determine if it will be effective (some brand names change their active ingriedients occasionally in response to tighter regulations). It is worth looking up the active ingriedient on this product...spinosad, as it is from the bacteria Saccharopolyspora spinosa and in some respects, is regarded as "natural" by some nations, who allow its use in organic farming. It has a low toxicity for mammals, but not so for some insects, so do not use near bees & always read (& re-read) the label from each packet. As far as pest control chemicals go, this is one I do not mind using in my garden, especially as it also effective against the target pest species.

Good for controlling ants. Works best when used as a liquid drench.

I've lived in my property since March '21. In April bombarded with ants trailing across living room floor and outside on patio. I used everything I could throw at them! Managed to stop them coming inside with diatomicous earth powder. Every year was the same until last year when I tried these granules. Game changer. I used the drench method and poured this along areas where I saw the ants and the corners outside my patio doors. I can't recommend them highly enough. These granules kill the nest not just the ants. They have really worked for me. I saw two random ants last week and used the drench once. Not seen any since but I am confident I've rid myself of the nests and the 'flying ant' bombardment in August. Fabulous stuff.

This ant killer is fantastic, highly recommended as it kills them quickly. I had a nest near my back door. Put the granules at the entrance to the next, and they dropped dead in front of me. The nest was gone the next day. Wow.

Definitely not the same effect as the previous product. Even a different colour . I didn’t keep the original container so can’t check the active ingredient. Helps a little but does take longer

These are great for getting rid of ants.Unlike the powder versions, it doesn't leave a mess, and reading other reviews, I have mixed the granules with a little water and poured into the entrance /exit areas where ants are and they run out quickly. Next day no ants

Much better than other ant powders

Can be used dry or mixed with water. I lifted turf and sprinkled the granules over a nest and replaced the turf. I then sprayed a small amount of water over the turf. No more ants! Very good product.
