8-Way Coax Cable Tester with Case

I am very pleased with this product. I used to be an installer with a major satellite company and I am very familiar with using toners to trace lines. Recently bought a new house and have multiple lines coming to a central box from every room with no identifiers. Every color on this device toned out perfectly. Toners are not meant to go through splitters, this is installation 101 kinda stuff, so if you have splitters, then you are going to have to track down where those are first. Also toners are fragile so if you don't protect them they will get damaged and stop working. I toned out 24 lines with every toner color with a 0 failure rate. It is also worth mentioning that if you don't have a well installed F connector and trimmed stinger then you may not get a line trace. If you leave your stinger too long it can also damage the main unit (Trim your stingers!). You can always test the unit with a short 6"-1' run of coax and connect one end to a toner and the other to the main unit to verify it's toning out correctly.

Great product. Simplified my old house's cable nightmare. I was able to find all but one outlet using this device. I have somewhere around 15 coax drops in this house built in the 80's. I think the builder of the home was obsessed with having coax drops. The master bedroom had 3 coax drops - strange. Anyhow, this device is simple to use and made my task of crawling in the attic to map out the coax in the house a breeze. I recommend this to anyone that needs to map out lots of coax drops quickly.

This is literally the best mapper ever. Especially for the price. Never ever ever fails on me. I’m being so serious. I actually was working under this house and put the colors on the outlets in the house and I found them all in 10 minutes and there were 20 different cables under there. I was literally thinking I will trust this with my life hahaha

Only down side is when a splitter was in line for multiple rooms it might come back as a different color rather than both.

This was perfect but the connection to plug in cable broke with 1st cable I put on. The barrel just spins around & of course no longer recognizes anything. I really needed to use it in my attic so I had to open and weld the connection better. That really needs to be reinforced better. If a connector starts to bind your screwed.

I use this every day installing satellite dishes to tone out the existing wiring. I can but hte terminators in al the rooms and make one trip to the attic/basement juction box and get all the wirrs connected to the satellite feeds. This tool cuts my install times in half or better some days. I can diagnose a bad wire if I recieve the wrong color, or a color which I didn't use that color terminator.
