They are ok, just not great.
I can't say these are horrible, but I can't say they are great either. I think if I had the Perception crate I would probably give this a different review which is why I am giving them 3 stars.I had these mounted to the Perception cooler that attaches to the back of the kayak seat (sit on top kayak seat). The cooler is awesome, love the cooler. These rod holders however are ok, but just not that great. They could be, but I think these would be better suited for the crate rather than the cooler.First, the pvc isn't really secure inside the sleeve. I didn't think it would be a problem, but as the day went on I noticed the pvc wanting to work its way out of the sleeve a few times.Second, the pvc should be a bit longer, I think that would help especially with a rod that has a slightly longer handle base.I found that attached to the cooler the weight of my fishing poles would make the holder and cooler flop backwards creating a situation where the rods could slip out, I also think this backwards tilt caused the pvc issue I described earlier. The cooler had an attachment where you can clip things to, I put a leash on each fishing pole and attached them to the cooler, which I am glad I did. The fishing poles were not that heavy and I didn't have anything rigged to them so there really wasn't a weight issue to cause the "backwards flop". Also, I tend to have my seat secured in an upright position but occassionally it reclines back a bit (not much, just slightly), this also created a backward tilt of the fishing poles, but even when I made sure my seat was upright, the rod holders would still tilt backwards. My fishing poles did not slide out nof the holders, but I found myself worrying more about losing my poles rather than enjoying the day fishing. Now for the good stuff:They are very well made and are very durable, aside from not having the pvc secured in the sleeve. I think that if these were attached to the Perception crate, the pvc coming out would not be an issue at all. They clip easily to the cooler- took like two seconds to secure them to the cooler. These have great potential if Perception made just a few slight modifications- attaching the pvc to the canvas sleeve and by making the whole structure a bit longer would greatly improve these, especially when attached to the cooler.Overall I think these would work better for the Perception crate rather than the cooler. They look great, but just didn't function with the cooler very well.

Fishing rod holder
Bought it for my husband to add to his cooler. Works great. Extra storage for his fishing rods.

Too short to be effective
These look great on the cooler but they are so short that no matter what rod, net, or other accessories I try to stand up in them pretty much fall over. Won’t hold my net without bungee cords to hold it in which kind of defeats the purpose. PVC tubes fall out any time I take the cooler off the seat back. I may try to cut the bottoms out of the outside cloth so my rods or net will just sit on the floor of the kayak with these holding them upright.

Not worth the purchase
The product is cheap and when attached is flimsy. Ended up tieing some rope around it to make it more secure and less flimsy still isn’t great. I wouldn’t never trust my rods in there would most likely lose them. I use them for my small fishing net but that’s it. Don’t waste your money

Male your own, ....
For the price, expected better than $0.35 piece of PVC and $4.50 piece of canvas cloth. PVC isn't even secured n the sleeve, already lost one overboard.

All good
I prefer the hardshell RodXPro, but these work fine too. Used it on a Perception 10.5 Sound and all went good.
