My second Tria
I had a Tria laser 5 years ago and lost it in a move, so I finally decided to purchase a new one. It works well for me (I am almost 73), and is used on bare skin. It will take a little while to get accustomed to the "prickly" feeling, but I don't mind the sensation.

Worthless
I don’t even see this item available. They must have had enough of them break and stop selling them! I had 1 stop working in the first month! Bought a 2 nd one. I have been given 3 different excuses now from TRIA as to why they won’t honor their warranty! $400.00 and they won’t exchange it ! Horrible customer service and worthless warranty!

Don't be scared!
This review is geared towards those folks who, like me, may have been scared to use it due to other reports of it being quite painful and possibly even burning skin. TLDR: Don't be scared! Go slow and pay attention to how it feels. I am in week one on the lowest level. I am 50 years old and using it more for evening skin tone than wrinkles, even though that is not what it is advertised for. After reading some of the reviews, I was scared to try it! I had to work up the courage for a couple weeks. Once I did, it was not a big deal. That being said, I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the timers. I keep it moving on my face at a steady but not too slow clip (you have to keep it moving!). It's a little uncomfortable, like a mild sunburn, but very bearable. Like a 2 on a scale of 1-10. I know from getting laser skin rejuvenation on other areas of my body that you become accustomed to it over time and it becomes less painful. So since it is so easy to use as part of my nightly routine, I'm not rushing it. At this point I can't see definite change, but I've only used it 3 times and not for all that long. I will update, particularly as to results, as I use it longer. One important thing to note is that your skin may feel the effects more strongly after you stop, so until you have done it a few times, stop before it hits a 4 or 5 on the pain scale so you don't end up feeling a 7 while trying to sleep.

Very interesting laser gadget that didn't do exactly what I was expecting....
This Tria Age-Defying Smooth Beauty Laser was definitely a new experience for me, and I tried to hang in there for several weeks to give it a good shot to see what it could do. There's some good and not so hot points to this to note that some may find more off-putting than others. First off, I'm not going to lie about this - while some people are saying this didn't hurt, that wasn't necessarily my experience. :/ While it's not a "searing pain" thing, it's definitely uncomfortable and kinda "owie" while using this. Not only that, but it makes my skin pretty red for a short period of time. I did NOT like how it felt, but maybe that's because I have sensitive skin, and I don't have a really high tolerance for pain. Secondly, if it reduces fine line and wrinkles, it does it in a very minimal manner - at least, for me, it does. If you have deep creases or anything like that, then don't think it's going to magically make them disappear. It can make some really faint, tiny lines go away, from what I can see. I mainly used this in some areas around my eyes, as that's where the majority of my wrinkles are at, right now. They're smaller and not too prominent - YET - and I THINK this made them look a little less so (the tiniest ones, anyhow). While this review so far sounds like it's an episode of Epic Fail, it's really not - and here's why. Back when I was a teenager, I had some acne scars. They're light and have lightened through the years (and are easily covered with makeup). Every now and then, I get adult acne scars that are slow to fade, too. Surprisingly, this little gadget made these scars fade into oblivion! So...while I was a little disappointed about the results of the wrinkle removal, it was a pleasant surprise to see those little scars go away! I'm very fair complected, so those little scars stood out when not wearing makeup. After using this, I can't really see them anymore, so it DOES make my face look a lot more clear complected. Overall, this appears to be one of those items where YMMV, and what may work for one may not work for another in the same way. For me, I'm reasonably happy that it made those acne scars fade away - even the ones that I've had for years and even DECADES - so this was an overall win for me in the long run. I'm glad to at least get some "gain" with the "pain" I've endured with it, so all is not lost, at least. I'm glad I gave it a while to really test it out to see what it could do before making any hasty assumptions about the product. Again - YMMV!

Wrinkle remover
For the price, I would not recommend. It didn’t seem to work for me feels like needles and pens when you.

Maybe not a magic bullet, but still pretty awesome
I have used the Tria laser for more than three years now. I do think it works, but with caveats. First, this works from the inside out and therefore results are not instantaneously visible, but rather take time--the microscopic wounds one creates with the laser within the non-visible dermal layer of the skin respond and "heal" by creating more collagen--this, over a long period of time, results in more youthful-appearing skin. Second, it's hard to give credit solely to Tria for my skin because the Tria laser is only one of multiple things I use on my face. For me, I use an "inside/outside" approach to skin care with the Tria laser and good nutrition to address the "inside" and high quality serums/creams and medical tape on my face wrinkles at night to address the "outside". Of note, I looked at a picture from a few years ago before using the Tria and compared it to now and see that the "elevens" between my eyes are almost gone now. Maybe it was the Tria laser, or the combinations of efforts, but I do believe it works. Finally, for those who feel it is painful at the highest setting, I barely notice it now and even watch tv while I'm using it. Hopefully you will have as good of an experience with the Tria laser as I've had over the past few years.
