Finally the missing piece to the HTC One M8 is here
Being that the HTC One M8 is one of the few high end aluminum android phones on the market, I was apprehensive against the idea of covering up it's slick finish with a cheap plastic case. Fortunately I was glad to see Devilcase announce the creation of their aluminum bumper a few months ago and have been waiting for it's release since then. Now that I have it in my hands, the bumper has more than exceeded my original expectations.Upon first impressions I was struck by how high quality the gray color finish was and how similar it felt compared to my gray colored M8. When the bumper is on the phone it does not feel like a bulky case, but rather as a extension to the phone. A needed design change in my opinion, since one con of the M8 itself is how slim the edges are compared to the top and bottom of the device. This makes the phone a bit difficult sometimes to hold. This bumper solves that problem. The increased heft and size the bumper adds to the phone's grip and results in the phone being easier to handle and use either one or dual handed. The finish on the bumper is not slippery like the finish on the M8 is and helps alleviate the common concern people have of the M8 potentially slipping away from your hand. One of the best attributes I like about the bumper is the design itself. The curved seamless design around the bumper is smooth and rests comfortably against the palm of your hand. This kind of design makes sense given the fact that the M8 has also a curved design to it.Putting the case on wasn't the most easiest task. The screws and wrench tool they provide are small and I feared losing them against my dark colored carpet. Thankfully Devilcase provides 2 additional screws with the package.Part of Devilcase's advertising bullet points mentions that bumper's bezel protrudes a little on the front and back for lay on the table protection. I had to test this for myself to believe it. Although it didn't seem like it at first, it is true when laid back on a table the back won't touch the surface when the bumper is on. It isn't a lot of space, but it is enough separation that I don't have to worry about scratching the back of my phone. The front of the bumper also protrudes, but not as much as the back. When combined with a glass screen protector; a necessary accessory I consider. The screen and bezel become flush together. As with other aluminum bumpers there is always the concern signal loss will occur. Right away from putting the case on, I could tell signal loss wouldn't be a big problem with this case. One bar loss seems to the be the extent on some areas of my house, For day to day use outside the house I don't have to worry about completely losing my signal. If you are someone who wants both the scratch and drop protection a case provides while still retaining the same feel and touch of the M8's aluminum build quality, then there is no need to look further beyond this aluminum bumper. The price may be high if you are used to paying for cheaper plastic cases, but for what you are getting I believe the bumper is worth it. Devilcase seems to have put a lot of thought into the design of the bumper and it shows as it works around the features and design of the phone rather than against it.PROS:- Price is cheap while still retaining the same quality compared to the other more expensive aluminum case manufacturer options- Top of the bumper is openly designed to allow the M8's IR signal to work without problems- Colored finish on gray bumper is high quality and similar to look and feel to gray M8- Glass screen protectors make the screen flush together with the bumper- Case feels like extension to phone rather than a bulky case- Finish not as slippery compared to the M8's finish- Lay on the table back and front protection- Great eye catching curved design- Minimal to no signal lossCONS:- Screws and wrench tool are small and may be easily lost if not careful- Increased weight to the phone due to the bumper's aluminum build- Takes a bit of time to put the bumper on and off

Sleek and sexy...the phone or the bumper? Both
I looked at several cases before I purchased the DevilCase bumper. I wanted something that wouldn't cover up the phone, because it really is attractive and the 90% metal M8 gives it the appearance of a very high-end phone. I looked at clear cases, but most of them were plastic and seemed cheap. I didn't want a tank covering it either so obtrusive protection cases were out of the question. I was thinking about just using it naked like my last phone since I couldn't find anything, but I stumbled upon this aluminum bumper and have been very impressed with it so far. I was a little hesitant to pay $50 for a bumper, but after reading reviews on Amazon and on other forum, I decided to buy it.It arrived quickly and I was eager to open it. I must admit upon first opening it I was impressed with the build quality of the bumper. It is high quality aluminum and it really does feel like an extension of the phone. I didn't have a problem holding the phone because of its rounded back prior to the case, which some phone reviewers complained about, so that wasn't a reason for getting the bumper, but now that I have it, it really does make the phone feel nice in your hand, especially when on the phone. At times it can feel a bit bulky when I only have one hand free and try to push the screen lock on the top of the phone. I supposed I can blame HTC for putting the button up there in the first place rather than DevilCase. It really is my only gripe with the bumper. It is a great bumper, it feels nice and it looks especially nice. I have had a few compliments on not only the phone but the case as well. It is also very nice being able to set the phone down on a table and not worry about scratching it, rather than carefully setting it down without a case so as not to scratch the back of the phone. The case is well designed and is raised so the back of the phone never touches whatever surface it is lying on. The front of the bumper is also raised so it prevents the screen from scratching as well. I have a glass screen protector on the phone, and even that doesn't touch the table when I set it down to test it. I really am impressed with the case and have not experienced any loss of service, or at most one bar of 4G. Overall I am happy with my purchase. It was worth the price I paid and with the added protection, I feel better about using the phone and knowing there is something preventing it from being damaged...and it still doesn't take anything away from the beauty of the phone. Very pleased.

Sweet case!
I'll be honest, I was a bit concern ordering such a case especially for the price. At first, they seemed like a copy of the famous Element Case (which only makes cases for iPhone and Samsung Galaxy). But, I still decided to order it to support a startup company. The packaging was great! Everything was well packaged and it was shipped promptly. As many of you may know, the case is joined together with 2 L shaped aluminum pieces. Between the case and the aluminum pieces, you will see rubber strips. I believe the rubber strips were installed to absorb shock and to protect the actual phone itself. It also gives it more space which doesn't interfere with the signal.I've used it for a month, doesn't seem like any of the words on the case were rubbing off. I don't see the paint coming off either. One thing that I experience was the screws. I suggest you message Devilcase USA regarding screw issues. So what's the issue? Well, screws will start giving up and loosen after periodic use. These new screws that they send out are added with a layer of blue rubber to prevent vibration. New screws work 100% better. I've been using the new screws for a week and did not need to tighten them once. The only complaint that I have is the AUX port. It seems like the AUX port is too small and any high quality AUX cords won't fit in the hole. I've been having trouble plugging in earphones or my audio cord. If your a heavy music person, might want to double check on the AUX hole or else you would want to remove the case every time you listen to music.Overall, customer service is great! Case is well built, but can be tweaked for the better.
