Pros:1) They work. Let's be honest, all we care about is whether or not these little pellets actually work. They do. Not only do they cushion rocks (thus avoiding the ever-discouraging bruises on cleaning day), but they actually help improve the tumbling process. Simply put, they make sure grit gets to all those hard-to-reach places.2) They're reusable. And they last a LONG time. I've reused the same pellets for my course grit phase 4-5 times now and they still look the same as after their first tumble. Easy to clean and separate, they make like a lot easier.Cons:1) You'll need more than you think. If you really want them to help, you'll want your rocks packed pretty tightly with these pellets. Meaning? You'll probably be using more than anticipated. Again, it's well worth it--and the pellets are reusable, so you'll get your money back in usage. Still, I'd recommend getting at least one bag per grit phase (so four bags total...I know, a lot...but it's worth it.)

I'm fairly new to tumbling (2 years). I say new because there is much to learn and it's a constant process but it can be a tad slow when you consider each batch (depending on type of rock) takes at least a month to complete. Polly Plastics was recommended to me shortly after I started and I've used it since. It has done the job when used properly. Their grit is also a great product.

I like the size of this media. The price is a bit higher than the competition's product. I've purchased a 5-pound batch of ceramic tumbling media from another seller, but the size is much smaller. This could prove to be advantageous, or it could just mean that they wear out that much faster. Time will tell.If the price doesn't scare you away, this ceramic media seems to be a very good product.
