Not bad
I'm borrowing this comment with my own words added. These bulbs work great if you want to use them as license plate lights. As the other reviewer mentioned, they are not an extreme white (meaning not too blue) but pure white. The color seems more natural looking that one wouldn't think this was an aftermarket bulb. But at the same time, it is not the ugly golden yellow halogen light that we are all used to seeing...... I bought only 2 when I should've bought 3 or 4 because one was more white, while the other had a slight yellowish look.

Wrong size for my dome light, made it work elsewhere
Amazon said this would fit my dome light in my Frontier, it's not even close. However it's just barely long enough to fit in my map light socket so that's where it is now. It's fairly bright although I was hoping it would be brighter...

works great bright, not blue (a good thing)
I bought 2 of these to replace incandescent c5w (5 watt) bulbs as a license plate lights. Yes, they are 4000K which is in the "Pure white" or "neutral white" range, meaning that they are not yellow nor are they blue white. They are very bright, for me, I did not want my plate that bright, so I simply turned them inward towards the inside of the housing, instead of directly at the lens of the light housing, since they are directional, you can control the light output this way, and rotated them until I was happy with the dimming level achieved this simple way (as the ends are round, they can rotate freely in the socket).LED chips are on one side and heat sink is on other side (white color)Pros:bright white lightWhite is not yellow, and not tinted blue, they are pure white4000K (if you don't want blue-white LEDs)Can be inserted either direction (not polarity sensitive like most automotive LEDs from non major brands)Ran only ever so slightly warm on heat sink after running all day at 14.7V on a bench top (upper limit of normal alternator output, and other non-Philips LEDs have been hot when run like this)Heat sink / lens is about the same diameter as the bulb I took out, so should fit in most applications (some other bulbs are much wider)Input is only 40mA (0.04A), which means they draw only 1/2 Watt (original bulbs are 5 Watts)Philips reputation and backingCons:Directional light source (they claim 120 degrees)- but so are other replacement LED lights in this shapecost - but worth itIf you don't mind the price, go ahead and get them.I would assume that the 6000K version (also on amazon) is similar, only that it has a blue-white output

These do not fit properly!
It must be insanely difficult for amazon to figure out the sizes of all the bulbs in all the cars that ever were. While the light from the bulbs is quite nice, the fittings are bigger than these bulbs. They will work in some of the fixtures in the vehicle, but not all and you have to carefully balance them in the sockets. Of the four interior bulbs, only 2 are workable and these are in the dome light in the headliner. The 2 bulbs in the back are waaay bigger than these and won't fit at all.I was able to get 2 to fit in the license plate fixtures, but again, not fully the correct size...and kind of pointless to change the bulbs on the license plate anyhow.

Fantastic bulb, just double check the size you need before relying on Amazon's "This Fits Your Car" system.
Amazon said that "This fits your 2006 Honda Civic", but it turns out it doesn't. Thankfully, Amazon issued me a refund, and I'm currently waiting on the shipment of the bulb that should actually fit, I'll post a review of that one when I get it.A tip for those who are buying this and any other bulb of this kind, make sure you measure the original bulb from tip to tip. The nominal "38mm" it says is precisely an actual 38mm from the very tip of the connector to the other. I neglected to do so, assuming Amazon's "This fits" system is accurate. So even if Amazon says it'll fit, just double check before you buy.Long-winded spiel about fitment aside, it's actually a very good bulb. I hooked it up to a 12v dimmable test power source I made a while back for various lighting purposes, and I gladly report that it performs very well! The dimming transitions are smooth, as they should be. At 4000k, it's advertised as a pure white, which it very much is, but only specifically at exactly 12 volts; as it dims when voltage is dropped, it subtly shifts to a warmer red tint, and at around 14 volts, it's slightly more blue, but these shifts are negligible for all practical purposes. If your car is the kind that has map/dome lights that fade out when you close the doors or lock the car, these fade out beautifully. The most useful thing about them is that they're LEDs (duh). That means they only draw 1 watt of power. The incandescent bulbs that were in my car before were 8W, so if you accidentally leave your lights on, it'll take A LOT longer for them to drain your battery to the point where you need a jumpstart. The best thing about LEDs in general is that they are (subjectively) twice as bright, only using an eighth of the power, if that's not the very definition of efficiency at its finest, I don't know what is.
