But was a nice counterpoint after reading the more light and fast read ...
This book seems to cite other Doganis books quite a bit. It’s also a bit dated as 4th edition was from 2010 and I’m reading this in 2018.Some of the chapters are very condensed and takes some time to read for comprehension. But was a nice counterpoint after reading the more light and fast read of Petzinger’s ‘Hard Landing’.It’s not easy finding decent books on the Airline Industry and this one is not bad to give some general knowledge.

Interesting treatise of a boring subject
This book is the required text for Advanced Aviation Economics in the MBA program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Doganis applies the tedious study of microeconomics specifically to the airline industry. My only complaint is that for an industry which changes everyday, the data are somewhat stale. Hence, my three star rating. Although there is a smattering of 2009 facts in the book. However, the book should have a yearly update. Fortunately, there is a great deal of supplemental data available free of charge from a multitude of airline industry websites.

5* Recommendation
I used this book in my first year of Uni and so I invested in this in my 2nd year. It is extremely useful if doing a transport degree or wanting to know more about the industry. The author breaks down the information into sizeable chunks so that the reader is able to understand the information.

excellent book updated
I have previous editions of this book and am very pleased with the fourth edition which contains much new information on the industry. Doganis is an author with great credibility and this book is well written and easy to follow.
