Seriously Practical Keyboard
I'm a keyboard/mouse/pen/input device addict. I've the 500$ Happy Hacking Fujitsu. It's the best "feel" keyboard. Model M good too. Monoprice Mechanical good too. IBM Enhanced Wireless also good. Apple good. Sony (wireless All 3 generations ) good. HP & Logitech slimline - good. Alienware - cool. Das - good but disliked. My all time favorite... Fujitsu's version of Model M, Fujitsu KB520 & kb910, Sony AQ6-PCVA-KB6 & this one. After all the trial and errors, I was about to be happy with AmazonBasics. Used it for quite a bit but after reading a few reviews here, decided to get this one. This is so far the winner. In a blind-price-contest I'd have bought this keyboard for almost 60$ - 80$.Why?Model M's - IBM, Fujitsu, Monoprice & others alike... including "that Dell" ... become too dusty & too loud. apple - InappropriAte cApiTaLizAtiOn of eSc cApS lOCk etc keys turns me off.Sony - I like it too much ... So, I use it at home. It'd be boring to have the same at office.& My office has an odd policy of not allowing wireless keyboards. The best features1. Like M, this one has the Key-labels on Left Top.This increases my speed due to this small imperceptible benefit. I'd have liked to have Top-Left labeling for everything BUT the four Arroew-Keys . ... They should have been Centered.2. Like Sony, Tab, Shift etc keys are appropriately capitalized.3. Keystrokes - are clean. & I'm talking in the range of Mechanical keys... not just good but ... great. Moreover, if this is a designed feature or quality control issue, is not clear to me ...others ... please correct me...The keys to be pressed by pinkys & ring fingers are softer. So this really helps me.Is my keyboard pleasantly defective? I don't know.4. Professional looks.Fashioned with details - looks. The designers must be smart and absorbed by the big companies. If not yet, they will be.What-If:1. Would I replace this with AmazonBasics IF they came out with Left-Top labelling?Yes except for Fridays.2. Would I replace this with Sony?Yes, if they came out with a wired version that has left-top labels.3. Would I replace this with Fujitsu kb520?Yes. I already do. For too much report writing or monotonous typing, I still use kb520. Since, it's white, it does not go well with IBM blackness all around. & As a manager, you need to "seem" professional.4. Would I have bought this for 100$? Yes.This is not an apple-like keyboard... this is a Good-Keyboard.Good enough to make ME happy. The angle is good the way it is. Had I had not liked this fixed angle, for the features it has, I'd have rather stuffed a stack of papers under it than seek out another keyboard with extensible legs.Micro-complaints - The Shift & Enter arrows should have been on the right side of the words; the Backspace arrow should have been on the left side of the word; Number-pad enter key is missing the arrow. Please buy this product. It'll be a favour unto yourself.Anyone who disagrees after purchase, let me know why.Anyone who finds a better keyboard... let me know too.Enjoy!!!

a regular cheap keyboard, but slimmer
The most important issue about this keyboard is-the keys DO NOT HAVE SCISSOR-SWITCH mechanisms underneath. While it may look like a laptop keyboard, it does not really type with the same ease.Without the scissor switches underneath, the keys feel less bouncy or resilient compared to the typical laptop keyboard. This is also the reason why the keys will start sticking, as the other review mentions. On my unit, the space bar felt awkward/tight to press, even though the key did register on screen.Because the keys do not have scissors underneath, they can be popped out easily like a typical cheap $5 keyboard if you want to clean underneath. This is basically a cheap $5 membrane keyboard with flatter keys.Because this uses the same key mechanism as the cheapest keyboards, it clacks as loudly as well.As I own 3 scissor switch keyboards, I can definitively say that this non-scissors keyboard is the loudest of them all.If you like, and are used to, real laptop keyboards, I do NOT RECOMMEND that you buy this.Slim keyboards with scissor switches can be bought for only a few dollars more than this. The typing experience between a cheap $5 keyboard and a real scissor switch keyboard is noticeably different.Over the long run, the cheap keyboard starts to feel uncomfortable and more difficult to type on.

Looks good feels cheap
I bought this product today after looking at the reviews. I was very curious to have a look at it after it arrived.Pros - looks good, is quite sleek.Keys are well separated and hence it is easier to type.Cons - feels very plastic and one doesn't get the feel of using a "keyboard"quality is not that great and I would assume this to work not more than a few months.its annoying noisy for me to type on this keyboard. My laptop is much quieter. I would have expected this one to be much quieter than other keyboard which I use at work.I personally feel the keys could have been softer, I feel they are a bit hard to press, may be its just the way I type. After buying this product I feel I could have rather spent a bit more and gone for a better keyboard. I still get annoyed by the plastic noise it makes while I type this review.Update - been using this since a week and getting more comfortable with the keyboard now but I still don't like the feel of the keyboard, quite plastic and the keys are rather not as soft as I like the to be. I would increase one star since I am more comfortable typing on it for now but I am not sure if I would be able to give it another star after another a few more weeks of use.
