Works with Pentair Intelliconnect
Last season my water temperature read something ridiculous like 1000 degrees and a day later no temperature was detected at all. On my Pentair Intelliconnect this prevents the water heater from turning on. When I got this I removed the old temperature sensor wires and hooked this one up to make sure it was the old sensor that was the problem and not the Intelliconnect. Luckily about 30 seconds after connecting it, the water temperate read as the ambient temperature so I knew that it was working. As others had mentioned, the washer did not work well so I had a small water leak after I reinstalled everything. I put on the old washer and everything was fine. The washer seemed ok so I'm not sure what the problem was. It's a very easy installation. The hardest part was trying to push the wires into the wire terminals without being able to see what I was doing and routing the long cable so that it wasn't a tripping hazard.

Easy replacement of existing temp sensor
My original Pentair thermometer quit working for the pool temp. I tried to cheat and connect the wires to my existing wires without going all the way to the panel and that didn't work (maybe a different size of wire). Anyway, when I took the cables all the way to the panel and connected it there, everything worked fine. A quick calibration on our system and now our temp is showing correct again.

Will NOT work on Compool CP3400 control systems.
Do NOT purchase this if you have a Compool CP3400 Pool-Spa Control System. The control system will not recognize the sensor though the description says it is compatible with Compool; it is NOT. Its price (about $12) is attractive but you will still get the ERR-1 code. You must use the more expensive Pentair water temperature sensor model TS-5L (about $85). I tried this sensor and thinking it would use, had to enlarge the hose since the sensor is larger. Bad mistake as once I found it didn't work and after buying the correct part, it took me a bit to seal the hole so that it wouldn't leak. Added a second O-ring and watching it to see if will not leak long term. If that doesn't work, then will need to seal the old hole and drill a properly sized new one. Bottom line, read your instruction manual and check the reviews. May be painful, but sometimes you have to pay more for the right part.

Worked well, had to buy disconnects
This works well. I used it to replace the sensor on my Gulf Stream electric heat pump on my pool. The only downside is that it didn't include disconnects. I had to buy my own and crimp them on. You may need a hose clamp as well (I already had spares).

Easy swap-out on Pentair system
Wow! So happy that a replacement part for my Pentair system is actually reasonably priced! Yeah, it's not the OEM part, but it's such a simple item, who cares? Sure, I can't speak to its longevity yet, but I can say it comes with a ton of quality wire, swaps out in minutes, and instantly returned my system to reporting the right temperature again! If it's not obvious, this is an easy part to install (assuming your current sensor is in an easily accessible location). You can run the wire through your control box and connect it at the proper terminals, or you can just cut the wire on your old sensor and splice this one in without having to take your control box apart - of course, this implies that your old wire wasn't the problem. Thank you nameless overseas factory for giving me a great, inexpensive alternative!

Great thermistor for a Pentair pool
This thermistor worked perfectly on a Pentair pool system. It is MUCH less than the OEM part, and according to another reviewer is better than the OEM original part since it has a solid wire, in my opinion. It is not the manufacturers fault, but be prepared for an arduous ordeal when trying to rethread the new signal cable through all of the twists and turns that the original cable went through. This took 75% of the total installation time.

Long lead is great
The 20' lead helped by not needing to splice wires to reach connection point.
