My Queen Karo

These independent movies do not have the hollywood glitter and are very honest and genuine. The up and coming young actress was outstanding in her role in this film, as all the others actors and actresses. Keep an open mind with movies such as this, as they are not hollywood and do lack all the censorship and restrictions of the high budget Hollywood movie. The character, Karo was played with so much heart as her family moved into a commune of some sort I believe set in the 1970s. If your a hollywood movie buff, this is not for you, but if a fan and collector of independent movies that push the boundaries of censorship and honesty than I am sure you will love, My Queen Karo. I checked it out of our local library and watched it several times, then I knew I had to own it. Now I've watched it countless times and it never gets old. There are still things that I hadn't noticed in previous viewings. The story is very moving.

A beautiful and powerful film, well worth a watch if you like anything out of the "mainstream." If you only like blockbuster hits, skip this one, it will be over your head.

Consult IMDB for the plot. This was a very offbeat movie that kept me guessing. I never knew what to expect next. I grieved for the child and the neglect and hardships that were thrust upon her by thoughtless self-absorbed parents. The bohemian lifestyle was difficult to adjust to. I kept correcting the adults in my mind when they made mistakes in judgment and proper parenting. Karo is a lovely child and a likable character. I empathized with her dilemma and was stunned by her ignorance of animal biology. 'Nuff said. Good movie. Just NOT for those of Victorian or Christian values. Much nudity, 'free love', sex and such.

Boooooorrrinnnggg, sorry dont know how else to put it. Really about a bunch of Euro-hippies but doesnt really amount to a whole lot.

Foeign movies are sometimes hard to find--I had to wait a few days after first ordering it to become available, but if you don't mind waiting a bit, it's worth it!

This film is a story of a girl who deals with life in a 1970s commune. She struggles to make sense of the free love, nudity, and unorthodox living of her parents. Her free loading father finally accepts her desire to excel at something (swimming in her case), which finally makes her content. This film is worth your time.
