Beach umbrella anchor
This works really well. A day at the beach is no fun when you’re holding onto an umbrella that is trying to take off in the wind. It comes with all items needed to turn your existing umbrella into a solid, anchored sunshade. So the idea is to dig a small hole (I use an auger for my power drill), place the umbrella through the bag that is laid out flat with a hole in the middle, and then put it to a certain height (collar from the kit on your pole) and it hooks upward to the umbrella hooks on the collar, you fill the bag with sand and this thing is rock solid. To disassemble, simply unhook the bag from the hooks, dump the sand, and lift up the flat bag. Easy to use and adds safety to your umbrella so you won’t injure yourself or others from a flyaway umbrella.

worth the price
pros: held super-brella tight (used gallons of water instead of sand- just being lazy but worked fine on windy beach day. i'm sure packed sand would be even stronger.) thick tarp (quality) and hardware (except tool). sand gopher and extras nice even tho i didn't think it would be. cons: the tool bent (the one you use to fasten it)- this is the only cheap part of it and i used my own wrench, no biggie, but when something says tools included they should work, especially at premium price. you only use it once so not a big deal if you have your own wrench. needs an extra insert for smaller umbrellas- towel hanger does NOT work on my umbrella. the main ring fits because the screws reach my umbrella- but an extra insert would have been nice. the towel hook screws are not long enough to reach my umbrella, so it's useless. this is a bummer, it is a nice thing and a plus but i can't use it at all because of the short screws/no insert. all in all my biggest priority like most people on here was to hold the umbrella- it does that so i'm happy. top price, and it shows in most places....almost perfect. Oh the other PRO that really convinced me to pay top dollar for a simple looking thing is i noticed the company was very quick to respond to people who had broken items, so they clearly stand behind it. i will pay for that for sure. GET IT and you can RELAX, not chase/hold/give up!

Only Umbrella Left Standing
We bought this Beach Bub umbrella base for our spring break trip to Florida a year ago. Worked great. We then used it all summer on the beach in Michigan near our home. Many times our umbrella (from a big warehouse store) was the only one standing as strong winds off Lake Michigan toppled others. We took it to Florida again in March this year and it was super windy all week. Thank goodness for our shade because I had an allergic reaction to the sun because of some medication I was taking and had to be careful about exposure. The base looks exactly as the same day we first used it. Dry sand works fine, but on a really windy day, damp sand is even better. It's easy to set up, just twist the umbrella pole into the hole in the Beach Bub. Go down a few inches. Fill the whole thing with sand, lift the corners and attach the holes on the corners to the hooks in the ring that you've installed on the umbrella pole. Then add a bit more sand. Voila! You'll be in the shade until the sun goes down and you undo everything. I always brush the sand from the Beach Bub and carefully fold it up. We keep it in the pocket of our big warehouse chairs. Since the umbrella pole doesn't fit into the umbrella bag because of the ring around the pole, and we don't want to always detach and attach the ring, we bungie cord the pole to the bag. Works great. Simple to set up and store.

Not a bad concept
This worked ok. I tried it today for the first time and here’s my thoughts. With loose sand, the tool for making the hole didn’t work. Every time I pulled it out loose sand would just fill the hole back up so I didn’t use it. I eventually got my umbrella in the ground as best as I could. After that, I found the process of filling the sand ok, but tiring in the hot sun cause it took a lot of sand to fill it up- thx god for the shovel. My umbrella did stay up for most of the time, although it did end up leaning to one side a bit in the wind, but it never fell over. Taking it down after the fact was pretty simple. I wish it came with a little bag with a clip to hold the shovel and the yellow mat so I could attach it to my backpack cooler. The one thing I find is that with the clip attached to my umbrella pole, my umbrella no longer fits in its bag so that’s a pain. Overall this works, I just wished the tool to dig the hole worked so that the pole would go deeper into the sand. Update 5/19/23 I bought the beach bag from this company and I am so happy I did. It fits my umbrella with the attachment, the shovel and the yellow mat easily with lots of room to spare. I have made several trips to the beach and although I have the kit, I didn’t use it. I honestly didn’t want to go through the hassle of setting it up (shoveling sand) in the hot sun. I didn’t find that part fun the last time I used the kit. I just decided to use my umbrella without the kit and it worked well. I do have regrets about buying it (not because it doesn’t work) but because I don’t see myself reaching for this as it’s a hassle shoveling sand in the hot sun to fill the base up. The beach bag from this company, which is pricey, is great. Good quality and spacious. I have yet to find another comparable beach bag. Everything I need for the beach fits in this 1 bag.
