The remote mounted on the hot shoe is what I didn't like, but the remote does work as claimed. The quality is great, it's easy to setbup and use. For a remote of this quality, it's worth the cost. The remote tested and used on a Canon EOS Rebel T7 (2000D).I've used other remotes to operate the shutter, which didn't obstruct use of the "hot shoe," which I like over this one. Thus the 4 stars rather than 5 stars.

Great remote haven't tested it taking pictures but its what I expected

Initially I thought there was a firmware or transmission problem that was my fault, or that despite what was said, the remote wasn't compatible with my D5600. However, it turns out the analog port connection for the transmission cable is defective. Out of the box, I am unable to use the receiver as a wired remote or use it with the transmitter as a remote shutter release because of this. However, if I apply constant pressure and slightly bend the analog connector as a press the shutter button, it will take a photo. Very disappointing on the marks of quality. When I do this, it does work well, but unfortunately, this is still a huge issue with quality. Especially considering I can't apply pressure on the cable if I'm standing 20 feet away and trying to use the remote. Rather defeats the purpose of this product. I fear this may have been the same issue that plagued the other D5600 user that could not get theirs to work. If you're not open to a possible defect, I would choose another product.
