Really impressed with this speaker. I like the fact it can charge a phone as well and a full charged battery lasts a long time. I would suggest buying a zip case which can be found on Amazon. The Bluetooth range is very good. Great overall speaker. I’ve not been brave enough to get wet however and would only do this by accident.

Great sound and complete in features

The sound is really crisp and bright in the middle ranges. The high frequency response definitely attenuates. The bass really lacks between 60 to 90 hz where the sound effectively cuts off entirely at around 70 hz (regardless if using bass boost). Electronic music with sub 60 hz literally cuts off. The speaker is rated for 60 hz so I can't knock them off for something I agreed to buy. Aesthetically, the device looks and feels excellent. I look forward to making use of it. All in all, the device is good but I would say you are paying more than what you get. Then again portable speaker sound quality is inherently gimped so you can't expect to get the same quality for the same price as another type of sound system.

After having the charge 3 for the longest, I decided to upgrade to the charge 4. Now having the charge 4 for almost 7 years I can say it’s the speaker that goes EVERYWHERE with me. Good sound, long lasting battery, and easily movable. *It managed to survive a fire and still works perfectly fine, if that doesn’t tell you something I don’t know what will.*

The JBL Charge 4 is, in my opinion, the best of its class for size, battery life, sound quality, and build. It's not too big at all; perfect size can easily carry it in your hand or a backpack without any problems. The advertised battery life of 20 hours is valid and lasts me a week or more depending on use and volume; it also charges up pretty fast and can be used as a power bank to charge other devices. The sound quality is astonishing. It provides plenty of base, clarity in mids and highs, as well as a lot of volumes, e.g., can fill my house will sound without breaking a sweat. In my opinion, it far surpasses the likes of its competitors like the UE Boom 3, JBL Flip 5, Sony XB32, etc... The build quality and aesthetics are also gorgeous. The mesh material on the outside provides a premium look and feel while protecting the speaker as well, given its IPX7 waterproof rating. If you are looking for a portable, premium sounding, Bluetooth speaker, I would highly recommend purchasing this. The only reason I would consider something like the UE Boom 3 or JBL Flip 5 is if you really really need it to be portable. Because the JBL Charge 4 is quite portable and provides much better sound quality and battery life, which makes it worth the extra money.

Im Vergleich zum Vorgänger, der Charge 3, ist die Charge 4 richtig fett geworden, ein dicker Brummer, eigentlich zu viel des Guten. Aber Volumen gibt Klangqualität, und das sind ja die Werte, auf die es eher ankommt (bei mir jedenfalls): Angenehm, Bluetooth oder Klinke, also PC-Box oder draußen mit Smartphone. Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.
