A must have for the ruger
It's absurd how handy this is. I only have two mags as I just bought a new Ruger .22 mark 4 tactical and the amount of fun I had. My dad loaded up his mag before I can shoot three bullets and had the next magazine loaded before I could shoot mine. I'm going to buy some more and just load five at a time. It's so fast, maybe 3 to 10 seconds to load depending on how smooth it goes. I recoment using lube and I did have to adjust the spring tension and distance screw took me 15m max.

Worth the money
Works well just have to get the set screw to the right length for it to work properly

Good for a few hundred rounds...
[REVIEW NOW RAISED FROM THREE STARS TO FIVE -- READ MY "ADDENDUM" BELOW]After a few hundred rounds (200 at most), this loader gets so clogged with .22LR bullet wax that it becomes almost impossible to load a magazine. The cartridges then pretty much just stay in the loader after that, or dribble out begrudgingly into your mag every few seconds of wild shaking and tapping. The "secret" to getting this loader working properly again is to internally clean it out of ALL built-up bullet wax. However, after another 150 - 200 or so shots, you have to clean all the wax out again, and so on and so on.This would all be somewhat OK, except that before you even reach the 50 or so round point after the thorough cleaning, the loader has already started to get gummy and very sluggish, with much tapping, banging, and shaking required to still be usable in loading your mag. That is, as I said, until you reach the 150 round point, and then its cleaning time again.I found it a lot easier to simply load my Ruger MKIII mags with the slower but much more dependable HKS Caliber Long Rifle Magazine Speedloader, available here at Amazon. Much cheaper too.ADDENDUM:After trying everything in the book to get this loader to function smoothly, I finally hit on the "secret sauce" that makes this product work as advertised: I spray WD-40 lightly over all of the cartridges after each filling-up of the loader. (The instructions infer that this is not required for each and every fill-up, but it absolutely is in order to prevent gumming up of the loader. Now, the loader works like a charm; just don't forget to take along your can of WD-40!!)..

Works great with Ruger Mark III 22/45 mags.
I was using Remington Target grade 22LR and it loads fast with no hiccups. Have yet to test other brands. It's not like you have to jiggle it 10 times to feed 10 rounds. Just 2 or 3 cycles result in a full mag. A real time and thumbsaver. It should be noted that the instructions warn that wax-coated ammo may not feed correctly; but a simple remedy is included.**UPDATE**Tried w/ cheap Federal waxy ammo and found it did hang up a bit. Manufacturer advises to give ammo a light spray with Rem Oil when this occurs. I didn't have any Rem Oil with me at the range so I just ran it slower and gave it a little attention. Worked fine for the most part. Deducted a star due to the sensitivity to certain-types of common ammo. Still a great time and thumbsaver.

Was a good product but now has problems.
I've used this thing now on 3 trips to shoot and love it. I first tried loading by hand and I had enough of that after one visit. I bought this thing on here along with an "individual" loader. I haven't even touched the individual loader. I take this with me, load up 4 magazines quickly, do some shooting and re-load. I did have to adjust the screw slightly for my magazine. I also have moments where it gets a little finicky and I have play around with it but that is rare overall.Others with me commented how cool this little device was and how they wish they had one. I like this product.Edit: June 7, 2018. So I've used this for about 10 visits to my land to shoot. The past 3 times a round will jam in to this little hole and will not come out. It blocks the thing from working as intended. Today, I simply could not dislodge it with the equipment I had on hand as nothing was long enough to get in there. This has been a regular occurrence so now I'm a bit disappointed with this product. See pics of stuck round.Edit: July 2018: I've tried to make sure this is not user error. No way for me to now use this without the rounds getting stuck. Useless to me now.

Super product, I ordered clear but received yellow...don't hesitate
In case you're really picky, I did order the clear Lexan version and received a yellow model, so it's no guarantee of your color choice. It's ugly, but it works so well who cares? Here's the review:I just acquired a Ruger 22/45, and the magazines are really hard to load. To make it worse, the edges at the top of the mag are very sharp, and trying to load the in the traditional manner almost cut my thumb open. I managed the first day out with a pair of gloves, and when I got home the McFadden .22 loader was on my doorstep. The instructions are very easy to follow.Step 1) Slide the loader lid openStep 2) Dump a bunch of .22 rounds loosely into the topStep 3) Slide the loader lid closed, and gently shake the loader back and forthIt's at this point the loose .22 rounds start dropping into a slot, perfectly alignedStep 4) Tilt the loader up (reservoir end up, mag insertion end down) and insert a Ruger mag fully into the bottomThe .22 rounds will either completely fill the magazine instantly, or you might have to gently slide the magazine back out just a bit and then back in, as 3-4 rounds fall in each time. Either way it's super easy. Stupid easy actually. This is hands down the best accessory you could get for a day at the range. McFadden needs to make one of these for every .22 magazine model on the market, I'd buy one for anything else I own.
