Safe way to tie
this is an amazing invention- my horse has a problem with very occasionally pulling back if something scares him. It is dangerous- he pulls until something breaks. If he pulls back when tied to this, it lets the rope out, but you have enough time to grab the rope, and he doesn't get hurt. It seems to also teach him not to pull back, once he feels there isn't a hard resistance, he stops and stands there. There are different ways to tie to increase resistance- I've only used the easiest one. Won't tie my horse to anything else!

A truly useful product
I made the mistake of hard-tying my horse to a fence post for "just a moment," thinking that I'd finally gotten him trained not to pull back, and you can guess what happened. Despite having purposely left lots of slack in the rope above the knot so that it would give a bit if he spooked he hit the end and damn near took down the barn before I got him to quit setting back. I learned my lesson and bought the Blocker Tie Ring. We'd used them at previous boarding barns and had great success but I didn't have one at our new home. We do now! It really helps keep him from panicking and going into fight mode.

Great deal
The price is much better than at local tack shops in my area. I keep one in each of the positions in my horse trailer. I have a couple in my tack shed with chains attached so I can attach them around hitching rails etc. I also have a couple that I use when connecting to the ties on my horse trailer. Horses panic now and then and can hurt themselves and break just about anything. I have a wonderful mare that is super strong. She has pulled a hitching rail completely apart, pulled a lead rope so hard the metal clip where the rope double back broke, etc. etc. These things slip and catch. The horse stops pulling when they slip. Great product.

Best thing to tie your horse up with. Rusts like crazy though.
I bought two of these. One of them is hung in a stall and is grand. The other is outside and looks like this picture. Had them a year. These are easy to use once you know how. No knots required and the safest thing to tie your horse with out there. They need to be made of stainless steel though for the price and what they are used for.

Great protection for horses when pulling back
I had a previous tie ring that some how disappered, so I hope whomever has it uses it and enjoys it. I find it great from when a horse seems to think it necessary to pull back and lead rope slides through it quite easily. Great Product

Best purchase for my young neurologic horse
Best purchase I’ve made for my horse. I have a horse with special needs...he’s 3 and has a neurological condition and had surgery for it this past summer, meaning he can’t have trauma to his neck. Since he’s young and delicate, it’s been hard to teach him any manners, how to tie, be patient, etc. I can’t tie him like a normal horse...even using some baking twine takes too much pressure to break to be safe for him. But it’s been nearly impossible to handle him even just to groom since I have no one to hold him for me. This has been a life saver. Before we knew the extent of his neck problems and I tried to teach him to tie, he would occasionally pull back and either panic or break his halter, which could kill him now. But with the blocker ring in his stall, I can now “tie” him without worry. If he starts to pull back or whatever, the lead slips out with little pressure, and I got a really long rope so he doesn’t get loose. And after using it a few weeks, he seems to be much more confident that he’s not trapped, but also knows he can just break free either...so he’s getting MUCH better at tying and not pulling back. I just purchased a second one and a second rope so we can graduate to cross tying in an aisle, and I am relieved that I won’t have to stress out about him hurting himself, while I can finally be able to work with him properly and without him being all over the place. Best investment so far for my little guy’s case.

Easy to use and better than tying
This is my second blocker ring (first one sprouted legs and walked away) and I still love it. I keep it in my grooming box and easily hook it and my horse just about anywhere with a ring. My horse has a tendency to want to "untie" himself when I use a quick release knot so this keeps him put and out of trouble. It can be put in a saddle bag and toted off down trail or use the included eye-bolt at the barn as a more permanent fixture to clip/ unclip the tie to. I 100% recommend this item.
