This is a good unit.
This unit is fully compatible with all my Pi's. W, W2, 3, 4 and 5. Don't buy a similar item on Adafruit (Product ID: 2992). It won't work.

Not perfect for all projects but good
Power will back feed and was causing a bit of an issue with the project I am working on. Other than that they are working fine and doing what I need them to do.

Made my nexus player an amazing HTPC
Nexus player is amazing, however, it has wifi issues. I live in an apartment and 2.4GHz wifi signal in general is bad (expectedly). Hence, I bought a dual band router which supports 5.0GHz wifi signal. Somehow, nexus player connectivity on 5.0GHz signal is unstable, and a result, I could never use my nexus player to its full potential. The nexus player doesn't have ethernet and usb slots. Instead, it contains a miscrousb slot. This hub solves the issue by extending the microusb to ethernet and other usb slots. Now, I have connected my nexus player with ethernet and a wireless keyboard/mouse (via one of the usbs). The speed is amazing, and I can stream HD movies, high resolution pictures, cast chrome browser (from laptop) without any lag issues.

Worked right away.
Plugged in my ethernet cable to internet, Clicked the defaults in my Raspberry Pi Virtual Desktop. Connects right away. Clicked to share the Raspberry Pi wifi, Hotspot came active. Plugged Adafruit weather prototype to USB, display is nice and bright. Value for money. Reconfigured ethernet to connect cable directly to MacBook, almost as simple to bridge to Raspberry Pi wifi internet.

Didn't work with the Amazon Echo Show Generation 2
I purchased this device to provide wired Ethernet to my Amazon Echo Show 2nd generation unit. Several people said they had the sister adapter -- "Micro USB Ethernet Adapter with USB OTG Hub Compatible TV Stick, Chromecast Ultra/2/1/Audio, Google Home Mini (RJ45 LAN Wired Internet)" -- working with the Echo Shows 2nd gen. I decided to "upgrade" to this model. The Amazon Echo Show 2nd gen recognized the adapter, but when I plugged in the RJ45 plug all wired Ethernet devices on the network stopped working. I verified the adapter was causing the issue by performing the following steps: 1) I had several other devices (2 Windows system, 1 tablet, and 1 phone) all ping the gateway (10.0.0.1) and they all got the error message "Request timed out" until 2) I unplugged the RJ45 and the devices all started pinging again. 3) I plugged in the RJ45 and the devices again get the above error message. 4) I tried a different Ethernet / RJ45 cable. 5) I tried a different port on my 16 port NetGear Hub. Amazon accepted the adapter back and I ordered the sister adapter -- "Micro USB Ethernet Adapter with USB OTG Hub Compatible TV Stick, Chromecast Ultra/2/1/Audio, Google Home Mini (RJ45 LAN Wired Internet)." NOTE (added on 6/24/2019): The replacement (sister adapter) works like a charm!! For those wondering why I want my Amazon Echo Show 2nd gen wired: Home automation, especially the router. Because of several disabilities, it is difficult for me to reach various places in my home. One of these areas is behind the furniture, where my ISP installed the router. Many times a year my router will need a power cycling to correct one error or another, but I can't reach it. Typically, I ask my caretaker or a neighbor to power cycle the router. I would like to be able to do this instead of asking someone to do it for me. After all don't we all want to be as independent as possible? Home automation is a great solution for the router, modem, and many other electrical devices (e.g. lights in other rooms, hallway lights, etc). Turn the router off is possible using the wireless network, but turning the router back on using the wireless network is not possible (as it is powered off). I found a wired (Ethernet) power plug, but want to do the Show before buying the wired plug ($100 or so). I'm giving this device 3 stars because it failed to work for me and using it (actively) took down my entire wired network. I don't know if it's the fault of this device, the Amazon Echo Show 2nd gen, or something else. I can't give something 5 stars I can't use nor keep. I also can't give it just 1 star, so 3 stars.

Works decently for Linux (Pi Zero) and Windows 10 (Lenovo Miix 2 8 Tablet)
The Ethernet chip onboard is a Realtek RTL8152 and works out of the box on the Raspberry Pi 2/Pi Zeros (although for the $5 Pi Zero, you are spending $15 on it, which would bring you to Pi-B territory in terms of cost), and with a driver load, a Windows 10 Tablet (Lenovo Miix 2 8). You should have no issues with Android assuming that your device maker compiles Ethernet support into the distribution (most new ones leave it out, so make sure before you buy!). Performance is great and actually runs an USB2 speeds (so about 8 to 10 MBytes/sec). The device does not come with a charger since it'll just pull off the device supply, but you can easily pick one up - a 5 or 10w wall wart unit will do just fine. It can do power injection with the included cable (your mileage may vary, but mine comes with it, see the included photos below) via the hub to charge the device (see photos for Pi Zero and Lenovo Windows Tablet) although that being said, a good deal of devices that I know of will not accept power this way, so your mileage may vary. Overall, decent construction, works as advertised, can't ask for more than that.
