I am a customer for LIFE!
I shattered my leg in 2007. I spent 3 years on and off in a hospital bed while it took 2 different surgeons 7 surgeries to fix my leg. Internal reduction/external fixation, at one point had to have the leg re-broken (Taylor spacial frame) due to malunion and now the bone is forever deformed from my injury. It was a mess! The last surgery to remove all the plates and screws was in March 2010 and I have spent the last 6 years trying to get my life back on track while working full time and trying to live a "normal" life. Of course, due to my injury, I will need a total knee replacement (the tibia plateau is "mangled" according to my ortho doc), but at 41, they won't touch me for another 20 years. To boot, I have torn meniscus (both sides) and joint compression has already begun. I have been working with the doctor and the pt folks to get a knee brace. Because my leg is a little different, it's been hard; un-loaders don't work because I have problems on both sides and pressure in the wrong place causes extreme pain. My knee went out again in January 2016 (pain so bad that I could hardly walk). I went through the Euflexxa injections (successful experience!) in March and have spent the last 7 months gearing up to chaperone my son on his Disney trip (April 2016) for his school's show choir group (when you are a gimp, one must plan ahead!). Why am I telling you all of this? Because this brace saved my life! I tried to wear the one I got from the doctor, but it was too uncomfortable, so I went to Amazon and started looking around. I wasn't sure what to do and was desperate because it was literally 2 weeks from my trip and I was so afraid that I couldn't be able to be the "cool mom" that I wanted to be for this adventure. I got the brace in and put it on - IMMEDIATELY, I felt a difference! I could tell the pressure was off the outside of my knee joint and it felt like I was walking "straight" for the first time in 6 years. My limp was much less pronounced and I felt great after my walk! End Result: I was able to chaperone my son's trip to Disney, walked 48 miles that week (YEP, 48 MILES - 32 in 3 days) and was only sore for A DAY after I got home!! I will be ordering multiples in different colors to go with my clothes as these will be with me for life! You have no idea how wonderful it felt to hear my 12 yr old say "Mom! You are walking too fast, I can't keep up!" after what I have been through! Thank you for such an excellent product and for helping me on that final leg of my journey back to mobility!

Amazing... I can run again!
To start: I am 27 years old 6'5" currently 265 lbs (not fat, not skinny, think tight end build) and played college football and a little arena. I stopped working my legs out as hard as I did when I played football, and stopped stretching as often as well. This led to severe tendonitis in both of my patellar tendons in my knees. I tolerated the pain and even bought the Mueller single straps but they just didn't alleviate the pain enough to allow me to play flag football, soccer, or basketball. I researched possible braces on google and came across these Chopat knee braces. I bought 2 figuring 20 bucks a piece is a worthy gamble to allow me to play the sports I love again. Well they worked and I have been able to play sports for the last 2 years relatively pain free (until i stop moving afterwards :)) On to the review: This is a product that stretches out over time. DEFINITELY ORDER A SIZE SMALLER!!!! But essentially what makes this product so effective is the rubber tubing that is inside the neoprene or whatever the material is. This sometimes slips out when washed or dried (I dry mine to re shrink them)but its not hard to put back in and its not really an issue but I thought it worth mentioning as the rubber does seem to shift within the straps somewhat. I find that for me when the brace's top strap slides down over my patella as opposed to being in place above it, it actually incorporates the second rubber tubing to further the support of my patellar tendon. I actually wear it like this now and it feels incredible. Durability: i am big, strong, and rough when I play sports and this brace has maintained its support for over 2 years now, seen countless washes and only now is the Velcro starting to peel off... it can probably be sewn back on (I sadly don't have those skills yet.) Bottom line: Before this brace walking down steps and slopes was incredibly painful, I couldn't run without feeling like my knees were going to explode outwardly, and I can play sports again!!! The chopat knee brace allow me to do everything I love and get through my day with little to no pain where as before I was very aware of my constant knee pain. I think this is an amazing product but I still recommend exercises and stretches that will reduce the pain over time. For me that is stretching my quads and hamstrings. Awesome product!

These aren't magic but definitely help
I have bad knees so of course I was looking for something that would allow me to continue exercising at the level that I did in the Navy. I was looking through the advertisements in the back of a magazine and came across these. These do not completely eliminate all the pain that I have, but eliminate 95% of it (as long as I'm doing the exercise correctly in the first place). These allow me to jog (something that I have not been able to do for a long time). The only down side to these is that if used for an extended period (like two hours on the elliptical machine) they can chafe the skin on the back of the knees. Because they have two Velcro fasteners (one for the top strap and one for the bottom) I had to learn just how tight to wear them or I would cause the back of my knees to become sore that much sooner. I found that when doing aerobic exercises I needed the top strap tightened most and the bottom strap just a little bit less. These turned out to be most helpful for doing exercises on resistance equipment. On resistance equipment I tighten both straps all the way. The knee straps hold the ligaments just right to keep them from becoming stressed. When ordering them make sure to follow their guide on the website for selecting the right size. I almost ordered based on the size I thought I should wear (luckily I didn't). The company also sells the single strap supports for those that need re-enforcement on just the top or the bottom. Hope this helps.

Garbage. Tried it on and knew immediately that it provided no support. It's bulky. Asked for a refund the next day.

If you have a 'dodgy' knee that clicks and wanders, then this is the brace for you. It doesn't ride up or down like some, and is great to wear when doing your exercises to keep the knee in place.
