Q: Will this connect to wifi Hotspots? Or, do you have to program a port in your wireless router to access wifi from this device?

I used it to add an Ethernet line to the Wi-Fi with no problems and only had to enter the Wi-Fi password into devices connected to the Ethernet. I my case the Ethernet cable was routed through a switch with 5 devices connected. No changes were made to the wireless router.

Q: I want to use this with my home stereo receiver that has a Ethernet port for the internet will this work with a AT&T router with Broadband.

My high speed cable router is a Cisco E3000 and it works fine with the Netgear N300 unit. I don't see any reason the AT&T router would be any different in performance as long as your broadband provides adequate speed. I can run internet TV channels, youtube, and music services just fine with the Netgear N300. There are two address set up methods (1) Connect the N300 to your computer and set up the address (I used this option which was very easy), (2) Connect the N300 to your stereo receiver and set it up using the interface on your unit (I would think this method varies depending on the end ethernet's device interface ability). I don't know about your particular device, but I use it on my Dell desktop PC and it works great.
