Arrived early. Excellent results, quality and purchase. It's a dog whistle, a short blast is all that's needed. I can probably hear a silent whistle, so cannot really judge. I wanted it for recall and barking. Recall has really improved, she gets praise and treats, realised to not use when she's barking, otherwise it's reinforcing, so one thing at a time.No problems, right weight and looks good.

Did not work on the dogs near me

This is a good whistle and I am impressed with it. It arrived quickly, is reasonably priced, seems sturdy and of good quality. I got it because I have a dog who has a behavioural problem regarding barking. She is lovely natured, but when she is outside on walks she gets in a state barking when seeing people, dogs and cats., and also at our garden gate, so I've been trying everything to help her to stop. I also have a Labrador type dog who responds quickly to this whistle - he runs back to me enthusiastically, was surprised initially by the sound. The whistle unfortunately does not stop my other dog's worked-up barking behaviour, but if I use it standing right next to her and looking at her, she does take notice. I do think this an effective whistle for some dogs, and it only does not have a remedial effect on my other dog's barking because she does have a quite entrenched behavioural problem due to a lack of socialization outside in her last home and the vet has recommended a professional behaviourist for her. So I would recommend this whistle generally because I see what a strong effect it has on one of my dogs. To human ears you can hear a slight hissy sound only and no-one around would hear you using it. It has a good length tape to wear the whistle round your neck .

Annoyingly I bought two of these. My dog is whistle-trained - instant recall to a range of pitches. We have not trained pitch-specificity. However, this whistle does not seem to carry across open fields/woods as he does not return for it when he's far away. I tried every setting, but it didn't make a difference. In the end I have to take off my gloves and use my fingers to whistle and he instantly came barrelling back. In the house, he does seem to hear it but he doesn't seem to feel the same urgency as in response to audible whistles. I gave 3 stars as the product quality seems good enough and it's possible that my two whistles are faulty. Indeed, the reviews do suggest that it's a bit 50/50 with this product. Many other reviewers don't seem to have whistle-trained dogs so I discounted their comments, however my dog is extremely well-trained but either couldn't hear or didn't understand this particular whistle.

The media could not be loaded. The whistle worked a treat in recalling my dog without drawing attention by the traditional loud whistle. It took my dog a couple of attempts to recognise the sound and what was required of him. But I am very happy with it. Nice neck ribbon to carry the whistle and adjustable for sound level. Compact and very effective.

While it is a lovely quality, unfortunately I cannot get this whistle to make an actual noise - it just sounds like air is blowing through and neither of my dogs respond to it (even though they are whistle-trained - I lost my last one on a walk, hence buying this!). I have tried spinning the base and removing from the plastic cover but no matter how light or hard I blow, I cannot make a sound! Will have to find another whistle to use instead.

Like the handy lanyard that whistle is attached too. Dogs responding to it quite quickly so training shouldn’t take long. Great that the noise makes it that not everyone hears it.

Speedy delivery and a great product. Sturdy and easy to use. Works really well with our dog and we’re really happy with the whistle. Definitely recommend the item and the seller.
