A cracking book for the grandchildren

Bought for a friends little granddaughter. Lovely book, colourful, good size for small hands. Illustrations just beautiful.

This is a very good childrens book would buy again.

Only buy this book if you are very patient and love, love, love repetition - you will be reading it a lot! It has been a huge favourite with my little boy from around a year onwards. He firstly just loved opening the flaps on each page, which are nice and sturdy, but then started to understand the story and be able to pick out details in the pictures when asked, so it does grow with the child to an extent. Great for very young children that might be a bit baffled by longer stories and rhymes, this is simple and interactive enough to keep them engaged and my little boy got a real feeling of accomplishment when he could "find" hen at the end. I ended up buying a second copy since the garden gate on the first one was very much loved (aka crumpled). The hardback separate copies are also much stronger than the three Acorn Wood books in one that I have also bought, (the 3 in 1 version would only suit an older child that can be trusted not to grab/pull/twist/be a usual toddler with the flaps). This book is very engaging for children from babies to preschool age children there is flaps on every page for the children to lift up and look. This book is apart of a series that the characters interconnect through each story and the children will enjoy reading all of the stories and finding the different characters.

This book is such a fun and engaging read! The story is full of energy and easy for kids to follow, making it a great choice for young readers just getting into books.My little boy absolutely loves it – he asks for it again and again at bedtime. It’s the perfect mix of excitement and age-appropriate storytelling. Highly recommend for any child’s bookshelf!

This entire series is perfect for younger children. My little boy struggles with his speech so the fact that the stories are short, are about animals he loves and rhyming, are really gripping for him. Also, what child doesn’t love a lift the flap book!
