The locking pins indeed are frustrating to keep in position during assembly. A few dabs of grease held them long enough to finish assembly. Note that each joint takes two pins, directly across from each other.Initially I used the offset bars fully down. I pack out close to 300 lbs and was concerned that the bars would fail. They survived over 100 miles of rough, rocky, desert 4x4 roads, however. The offsets caused issues with the controls that I couldn't fully adjust, and placed my right heel in contact with the muffler on my CB500X. I ended up removing the offsets and attaching the pegs directly to the pivoting mount.The pegs also don't sit perfectly square due to excess material on the mounts. I chose to let them sit ever so slightly above level.

I purchased a few weeks ago and just installed them. The machining is good and the parts fit together, but after mounting them they are not even with each other I think I will end up grinding them to make them straighter.also 1 tiny pin is all that keeps the linkages from moving and the pegs from rotating. I think I will have to reinforce them before I can trust them on a big trip.And yes there was no problem with the stock pegs being crooked or bent.
