MFA Publications, Printed in Italy. Excellent quality matt pages, of some weight, and comfortable size. 170 color illustrations with perfectly readable font size. Some illustrations are half' page, others a whole page, some spread over two pages, a few details. Hardcover under jacket is a muted turquoise and dark blue on the vertical with silver letters. Jacket shows detail of "Amida Falls in the Far Reaches of the Kiso Road¨(front) and "Sekiya Village on the Sumida River" (back).

This book is really great. Tne pictures are fantastic and the text is very well written. They explain about the great part of Hokusai's life and his excellent production. I recommend.

Generously illustrated with beautiful reproductions, and insightful information, this book lets us know and appreciate his unique genius. It would be difficult to find something this good or pleasurable. Thank you for producing it.

The book itself is everything an art fan could hope for, but several pages fell RIGHT out of the binding!

The book is published by the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, which has an excellent collection of Japanese art and a outstanding staff. I have a number of their books on AJapanese art and so far have always been extremely pleased.

This was a wild card gift for my daughter but it ended up as her favorite present.
