KiddeKA-F - Quick Convert Adapter - Allows Installation of Kidde Alarm in Firex Wiring Harness(6 Pack)

If you replace your old Firex smoke detectors, Kidde now owns & you will need these adapters. BTW, you will need to replace ALL old units, as the new Kidde units will not communicate with the Firex units. The adapters snap-in easily & work fine - I'm just mad about having to replace all the old units in my house.

My existing hard wiring was an old style connector. These were easy and worked perfectly.

These worked great to replace my old (1999) FireX smoke detectors with the Kidde i12060A. Connections fit perfect. Much easier than shutting off power and rewiring each smoke alarm for the new connector. Had 9 to do. Took about 5 minutes each.

I did not install these myself. I had someone replace my smoke alarms throughout my house. We couldn’t find any that were exactly like the old ones. I bought these adaptors and he told me the installation was much easier to accomplish using these rather than having to replace the entire face plate.

Made my life so easy. Easily connected my new smoke detectors to the existing wiring. It's a little bit challenging to fit all wiring behind the devices due to extension of wiring. It's expensive but it well worth it for not dealing with rewiring. Overall, I'm so happy with them.

This is the exact thing I needed. I could not find these in any store in town. Should have looked here first and saved myself days of lost time.

I am converting my ancient FireX to the newest Kidde 20SA10 (manufactured June 2024) and these adapters do not fit. The new Kiddes have the three prong triangle, but the housing is a lot more narrow than what this adapter provides. The adapter will not fit into the slot on the new Kiddes. I'll have to rewire all of the fire alarms.

Confronted with hanging onto a ladder and rewiring 5 electrical boxes or buy these adapters, it was an easy choice. Bought these and saved time and didn’t deal with the risk of being on a ladder to reach high ceilings.

It doesn't even align with the old attachment.Totally false advertisement
